Both. Nowhere do the official rules explicitly specify that you can't score a 10-8 without a knockdown and the practice is time-honored, albeit rare, for as long as there has been a 10-point must system in place for professional boxing judges.

I only score 10-8 rounds without a knockdown if I believe that the fighter was on the verge of being stopped (I also put into perspective how long he was in this position) AND he didn’t land anything of note.

Yeah, think we're on the same page on this - basically situations where there's extreme dominance and somebody's plainly hurt, more than just momentarily. :deal:

You taking to me? I can score the round anyway I feel like scoring it. What's so sacred about 10-9, 10-8? I've seen rounds that could have been scored 10-5.

You've never seen a round where one guy was been so bettered, so dominated that it couldn't possibly be lower than a 7? Like evaluating a waiter that was slow, skilled your soul, was rude, was slow, brought the wrong foor, and you give him an 8 when asked for an evaluation?

Sadly judges rarely score even rds.

They ALWAYS seem to score PITY rds 10/9....

But if PITY rds were scored even, then guys like Malik Scott v Glaskov, Chisora v Helenius, GGG v Jacobs/Alvarez and Kovalev v Ward would not end in robbery's or ridiculously closer on the cards than what actually happened in the ring.

I would never throw a server under the bus to his employer like that, having spent time in the service industry myself - and my ground-floor minimum tip, is somebody were to spit on me, is 15%. You have to be a CUNT to get 15% from me. Standard is 20, exceptional service gets more.

Seriously? You tip crappy, rude, incompetent service? Is that not enabling the server and doing his employer a disservice?

I do. I forgot - you're not American? That explains it. People that aren't from here (or haven't worked in the service industry here) just don't get it.

I hate scoring 10-8 rounds with a KD, almost as much as I hate 10-10's, the only way I'm willing to score a 10-8 is if the opponent is hanging on for dear life and takes an unrelenting battering from start to finish, as in the full 3. Like with Williams-Gallimore last night, sure the 11th was dominant for J-Rock, but the mere fact that Gallimore had a modicum of success in the opening minute before punching himself out was enough to justify that round being a 10-9. He had his moments, and they were dominant, which is more than enough to not score it 10-8 in my book.

i would never change my tipping percentage based on how good the service is.

From me everyone gets the same, 0% :deal:

I'm American...where did you get the idea that I wasn't? Born in the Bronx, sentenced to Texas.

The rule is tip the service , not the food, correct? I always give 20% in a restaurant even If the service is just ok. But the waitress who gave me the stink eye because I asked her to turn down the blasting music last week got 5%.

It enrages me having to tip someone, that's their goddamn job, they should be expected to provide good service with a smile on their face, that's what their employers hire them for, I shouldn't have to pay them extra for not being a smarmy ****bag.
