Waiters make only minimum wage.....tipping for good service is part of the deal. What are you, Australian? They DO NOT tip because wait service in Oz is paid a decent wage. I was with a group of guys in Perth that left zero tip on a $2000 tab....and the waitress was fine with it.

I didn't say I didn't tip, depending on the service I may tip extra, I just said I resent it. Clearly guys who go out of their way making the waiter or waitress work double should tip and more, but if you're just a regular customer that gets their meal and a few refills, that's not going above and beyond the call of duty, that's doing what you're paid to do.

:risas3: A genuine misanthrope. Hell, so am I, but a service industry veteran nonetheless, and so can't bring myself to stiff. :nusenuse:

Just the only people I've ever heard say they don't tip (usually on the internet, thank you technological globalism!) are Brits and other foreigners who are just baffled at the whole less-than-minimum-wage and living-on-tips model, a concept which doesn't exist anywhere else.

Except they aren't paid to do their job, not by their employer, not really. @FrankinDallas is actually wrong, they don't even get minimum wage, they get like half. The assumption/justification on the part of the employers and the IRS is that they'll make their living on tips and it'll balance out to a decent wage. But that depends on the customer doing their part and living in this country as you know there is a social contract in place that none of us signed up for, no, but refusing to be a part of it is just dicking over the servers who didn't create or choose this system.

If you get hit all the time and you are hurt badly in that round then the score can be 10-8 even though you are not knocked down. However, if you get beaten badly and you also get KD in the same round then the scoring is still 10-8 anyway. This is how the scoring system goes. It can't be 10-7 for one KD because it will be the same score as 2 KDs in one round.

I like to tip well, esp. if I get good service. Trump wants to give the tips to the owners, the waiters will get no tip if Trump gets his way, no joke! However, what was this thread's heading? Oh, 10-8 rounds, it is very difficult for me to give a 10-8 round without a knock down depending...................In the Vlad/Joshua fight two of the judges only gave Joshua a 10-9 round after the knock down because Vlad came back and hurt Joshua, beat the crap out of him! I could understand that, Vlad knocked Joshua down in the next round and should have finished him by the 7th and would have if Steward had been in his corner, bad advice from Vitali for telling Vlad not to go for the knockout. Vitali takes the blames for that.............

I absolutely do score some non KD rounds 10-8 and single KD rounds 10-7. And in return some rounds with a single KD 10-9.

It's definitely more accurate to offset boxing's otherwise ridiculously inacurate scoring system, which usually scores a could go either way round the same as a onesided dominating one. It's like it was designed to cause controversial scoring.

Ortiz vs Wilder 7th round was scored 10-8 for Ortiz on all 3 judge`s cards actually.Wilder didnt go down but was badly hurt, wobbling and all over the place trying to clinch on the ropes.

I cant recall recently any 10-10 even scored rounds tho.

I don't usually score 10-10 rounds because I try to follow the conventions used by the judges and I pick the guy who had the edge.

But I think there is a case to be made for an whole lot more 10-10 rounds.

I think that a fighter should win the round clearly in order to get the extra point.

How many times have we seen a RBR post that said:

    "10 - 9 to ******** (close)"

    or

"I had it 116-114 but a lot of those rounds were close and hard to score so 114-116 would be fine too"

If a fighter knew he needed to win clearly, it might spur more effort.

Finally, I would like to see five judges (at least for championship bouts). Four of the five would have to agree on who won the round, otherwise it wouldn't count.

I think the foregoing might reduce the number of bad decisions, gifts, and outright robberies.

No, cooch, I don't just shrug and pick somebody to give a round arbitrarily in the ones I tag as "close", those are generally "file under close but clear" ...even the ones I make a point to note were "very close" there is still a reason for it swinging the way of the winner. I'm never just flipping a coin for the hell of it to avoid giving a 10-10.
