Imo it was a CLEAR decision win for Sturm. Anyone who knows how to score a boxing fight would agree. Probably 116-112 for Sturm or thereabouts.

I didn't think it was a massive robbery......it was a long time ago though.

It was one of those fights where someone is expected to be dominant and because they aren't it creates an unhelpful change of perspective. Kind of like when you take your hand out some hot water and put it in warm water, it feels cold but in reality it's still warm. :D

Green was more competitive with Mundine that Oscar was with Sturm

Oscar was out of his weight class and looked soft as ****.

Oscar had no head movement whatsoever in that fight and it was perfect for Sturm who only had a jab which landed alot.

Oscar did land the better combos more regularly but i didnt think he won the bout.

Oscar's face after the decision was announced said it all. He knew that he was very lucky that he'd sign to fight Hopkins in order to get the win over Sturm. I had Sturm up by 3 rds.

I am probably the biggest ODLH nut-hugger in the universe and there is no way Oscar came close to beating Sturm

I was just about to reply the same thing as Phil! I was a bigtime ODLH fan and even with my bias I gave te fight to Sturm by a point (or two). From memory, Sturm's jab was like a piston that night!

I also don't think he beat Whittaker although that was close! I did have him winning the Mosley re-match, Trinidad and Ike Quartey by 2. The only one who is a bigger fan than me is my wife, but that's for different reasons.....

I had it at least 8 rounds to 4 (could have been 9-3) for Sturm....my Croat mate Catic got screwed quite simply.

The fact is Oscar underestimated strum because he hadn't heard much about him, de la hoya never bothered to train for the fight.
