He ain't gonna ****in beat Mayweather or Cotto, it's pointless except for money He's a 140lb fighter, and at the moment his resume is not very deep at the weight. Retiring as twice undisputed champ, undefeated at the weight with a solid set of wins would put him in contention as a great. They are not meaningless fights at all If he retires with 2 more whoopings off Mayweather and Cotto and little else, he'll go down as a decent 140lb fighter that tried to be a welter and got his ass whooped by the best.
I agree exposed is overused. Hatton would get brutalised by Cotto & as far as I'm aware Hatton has not mentioned fighting him so I don't think it's going to be an issue. He'll only go back to 147 for PBF I think.
Well, for a sense of perspective, look at the records of past British Champions, say McGuigan for one Hatton is well into British great territory already with the number of belts he's collected etc He's caught between the devil and the deep blue sea now though. There's not much at 140 to build on his reputation, but he can't operate at 147 I think Paulie, Torres, Pacman is the best he can do and that would be bloody impressive if he won them all, in the fullness of time I can see why he wants Floyd though but I see no way he can win, bar the fight being at 140 and in the UK, and even then it's a remote possibility
I think i already alluded to the fact that if he got beat then us Hatton fans would have to re evaluate how good he really is.Try reading all the posts instead of picking bits out:good
Im so far from Hatton hating its nearly wrong but i have to play cause nobody else talking about anything else on Brit... sorry and all that.. Trotter bang on the money there, he stuck now in a division where big names are gonna be elusive..... If Pac comes up its a super-fight, and a good one at that, unifying in the mean time aint no low par achievement either.... He gotta go down as an all time Brit great if it all comes good, and who wouldnt want another shot at the best fighter in the world......
The thing is I don't understand why he gave up his 140 belts in the first place. The fight with Collazo has to be the single most stupid career move for any fighter in a while. Right now he should still have his WBA/IBF belts rather than this IBO pap & the fact he keeps calling himself a 6 times champion or whatever it is.
I suppose hearns was exposed when he ktfo by hagler ? OR Duran exposed when he was near decapitated by hearns ?? LOL it don't work like that when the best fight the best, losing a fight dosen't mean your exposed :deal
Agreed, well Graham was against Collazo from the get-go, it seems he over-ruling Graham along his merry way a lot, in the ring even on Sat he wasnt doin what was asked of him.....not good me thinks That 6 time crock is crazy and laughable..........
2 reasons; firstly, Lazcano was meant to be the opponent at 140 but broke his finger and Collazo was the only make-able fight at seven weeks notice that HBO would accept Second it gave Hatton the chance to win a strap at 147 I don't blame him for taking the fight to be honest
That fighters can lose without being "exposed". Thats boxing unless every champ bar Marciano, Lopez and Calzaghe has been "exposed".
Yup a strap he never defended in a division he wasn't effective in. His hard earned, more meaningful 140 straps went to the knackers. It was a poor move if you ask me. Maybe he should have explained it that way then. Save any possible confusion.
