Why did Pacquiao fought the likes of Larios, Velazquez, and Solis when he could of gone up and fought Nate Campbell or Juan Diaz?

they are tune-up fights and pac was still at 130 that time. people don't even think that pac can beat a beast like juan diaz back then. many said that pac's limit was at 130.

Larios Velasquez and Solis were 130 lbers you moron.

Perhaps the better question would be why did he fight David Diaz instead of going for either Campbell or J. Diaz.

You can't fight the best guys each and every fight. You need tune-ups between guys like Morales, Barrera and Marquez.

Because they were looked at as tune ups before major fights and for logical reasons if you know the sport. A fighter simply CAN'T go through the same training camp for a major fight as for a tune up over and over, it could ruin certain fighters mentally or physically as the body can't handle it. That's why most fighters end up having two major fights a year or less once they're close to the end.

Also, guys like Larrios and Solis were pretty good fighters to be considered tune ups, especially Larrios.

I disagree, but rather I think (not too sure about this) Campbell's calendar was filled up at that time and Juan's stock wasnt riding that high courtesy of Nate. Regardless, Pac more than made up for the shitty comp at 135 in his next 2 fights. So no complaints here.

Thank you for your solid answer. I was just wondering about this topic because it seems like Pacquiao is jumping through the weight classes and fighting the biggest names out there. I know that Pacquiao wasn't as good before. but I was mostly wondering the reasoning of fighting fighters the likes of Larios. Again, Thank you.

i don't even think that anyone at 135 at that time is a good win for pac unless it was campbell. diaz had just loss to campbell and casa at that time, though a ring and linear champ, was perceived to be already shot when he got a gift from santa cruz and went life and death against a limited katsidis.

david diaz was arum's choice for pac because it was an in-house fight, same thing happening in cotto-pac.
