Will You Care About Pacman Having The Belt?

Wouldn't the belt be vacant in that scenario?

Is thier something in the Contract that states Cotto would lose his belt if he comes in at 147??? I think it would be very hard to enforce that being that the limit is 147.

of course the WBO will not strip Cotto if he comes in anywhere 147 and under. The catchweight is only about the purse. As far as the WBO is concerned all that matters is that the fight takes place within the welterweight limit and that they get their sanctioning fees.

If Cotto comes in over 147 and wins, Pacquiao won't have the belt anyways. It'll be vacant

If Cotto losses his belt on the scale then he consequently cannot win it back in the fight. That's what happened to Nate and the belts remained vacant after he defeated Funeka.

Cotto should be able to come in at the 147 limit....especially since his title on the line...

Cotto has long said that he'd be willing to vacant so the opportunity to defend his title holds little or no merit to him coming in heavy. What is relevant is the $1,000,000 penalty per lb that he would be taxed if he were to weigh in over 145 and so I think Cotto will oblige to the catch weight.

Let's make it clear . . . if Cotto comes in above 145 but not above 147 . . . he won't forfeit or lose his belt. 147 lbs is the max LIMIT for WELTER. If he comes in at 147 he'll just be penalized for the extra poundage or no fight . . . depends on Team Pac's decission.

That's just a press release :D . . . team Pac altogether will decide and I believe what ever is in the contract will be followed.

Remember this is a big money fight . . . do you imagine what will happen if any of these fighters pull out after the Weigh In?

    :hey
