Question: If Cotto has such a huge fan base, why was the crowd chanting Mosley?

I think Cotto vs Mayweather will do max money. I think when he loses to Mayweather though he will lose most of his fan base. Thats the subject of the thread. Hatton can lose 20 times and still bring max fans, but I dont think Cotto has that type of charisma.

It cant be denied that Floyd and his family bring excitement and entertainment to the sport of boxing. 10 more fighters like Cotto and the sport of boxing would be dead. Floyd has brought it back to life.

However I like Floyd because of his fighting style nothing to do with his personality, I perfer slick defensive fighters.

Why was everyone cheering for Hoya and the entire crowd was singing songs for Hatton the whole damn fight?

Why would the sport be dead if there were 10 more Cottos? 1) We wouldn't have any excuses as to why he shouldn't fight a certain fighter. 2) A proven elite boxer who has a fan firendly style who is willing to face everybody.

    Real heroes? :rofl

Floyd was involved in 2 of the richest fights in boxing history in one year earning I believe boxing most profitable year in decades. Oscar doesnt pull those numbers with anyone but Floyd. Hatton doesnt pull those numbers with anyone but Floyd.

    Stop talking garbage.

I believe Cotto would fight anyone but "I only fight who the company wants me to fight" :rofl Which means the company dont want Mayweather, they want Oscar.

Secondly, elite lol? For what? Surviving a 36 year old Mosley? :think

If Cotto was in Mayweathers position his team and himself would of jumped to fight Baldomir, so I dont see your point here nuthugger.

Floyd dominated Baldomir? Is that all you Cotto bitches know his Baldomir. Floyd 6 titles in 5 Weight classes. "Buh Buh Baldomir." Defeated Oscar de la Hoya at 154. "Buh Buh Baldomir." Cotto has been rocked repeatedly by the likes of Torres, Corley, Maussa, Judah and Mosley. "Buh Buh Baldomir."

:rofl Really its getting old. Find some new material holmes.

Cotto has said that he wants to face the best, and he knows Top Rank will put him there with the best such as they did with Shane Mosley last year and Antnio Margarito this coming June. I don't really see how it was a survival win against Mosley, they both landed the exact same number of punches. And even though Shane Mosley is 36 years old,you have to admit he has looked better than he has in a long time recently. Shane Mosley re-hiring his dad was the best thing Shane could have done at this point in his career.

Top Rank has already admitted they want De La Hoya more then Floyd. I think Arum was the principle reason Floyd never fought Cotto at 140.

And yes, Mosley I believe is just behind Mayweather and Cotto in the welter. I think he beats everyone else.

I've heard that Bob Arum would like to Cotto to face De La Hoya and Mayweather. The timing wasn't right for a Cotto-Mayweather showdown at 140 At 147 though, the timing is much better. I'm not saying that Cotto beats Mayweather, but if Cotto des beat Margarito, and Mayweather beats De La Hoya, then I see no reason why the fight can't be made by early next year.
