I'm sure this has been asked before but are they're anything training exercise or ways to make my jab faster. I'm new to this site. And its been sometime since I've boxed and I've lost that speed to it. Thanks guys
Throw slowly and get the technique down perfect first and then throw it over and over again with speed. dedicate a whole round to it on the bad and make sure to throw it when shawdow boxing too and don't leave your hand out there too long because the speed of your punches come from how fast they get thrown out and how fast they come back to your guard
it depends what u mean by increasing the speed. If your asking movement wise an important thing is that u snap it, when u throw the punch tense your arm and innercore. Excercise wise, a good starter is shadowboxing with 2Kg weights, pads work verry well. Dont do heavy weights, they only make ur hand bulky and slow, hope it helps a bit
Heres a thing we do. Stand with your front foot against a smooth wall. Looking along it with your Shoulder and Elbow and Hand touching the Wall, in a Boxing stance. Now throw a Jab along the Wall pulling the outside Shoulder back, not letting Shoulder, Elbow or Hand leave the wall, while turning the Hand down while in motion. Do it slowly at first. It will teach the biomechanics of movement and muscle the correct technique. You will be surprised at the results, plus the muscles will feel it :yep

Are you serious? You tense your arm and inner core just as your gonna have contact with the guy, injure joints? Why i say snap i mean throw with speed, not literally snap it. Heavy weights? Those are proven to just bulk you up and slow your handspeed up. Do your research, when you do shadowboxing with weights you dont do full length punches you do half punches to prevent joint injury, common ****in sense isnt it? Jesus
If you lift weight correctly for boxing then you can actually improve speed and you won't bulk up unless you train for it and increase the amount of calories you eat. Saying that time spent in the boxing gym sparring, bag work and pads etc are by far the most important things when it comes to improving speed an your boxing ability.:good
if u lift light weights repeatedly then yes you can increase you handspeed quite a bit. Lifting heavy weights slowly isnt tho finally someone who understands me and yes, there are far better ways to improve ur handspeed, to get better in boxing you must simply box. Pads, sparring and bag are by far my favorit
proven by who exactly? And doing half punches helps you get better how? And about tensing your arm?? umm have u ever stepped foot in a boxing gym? First thing you learn is to be relaxed and never tense
omg is this guy really asking me if i ever stepped in a gym? [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=47_JqsnYwrI[/ame] Here you go dickhead, now notice how he doesnt full extend his punches especially the hook. u dont know **** , i train twice everyday so dont talk ****
soo because a guy on youtube does it it must be good. And wow you train twice a day................... your point is? Your saying it as if its something that shows you know what your doing e.g. being an ABA champion etc
guy on youtube? Please dont tell me your serious.. do you even know who that fighter is? I train twice a day, thats it not trying to prove a point, im telling him that i train when he comes telling me that i never stepped foot in a gym.. Im not saying i know what IM doing im say THEY not what THEY are doing. If your going to go against professionals and say what they are doing is incorrect then fine, be hardheaded cause nowadays amateurs wreck pros. People bring up some really pointless ****, you show them how its done by a professional trainer and then they continue mocking you? Nice. If he wasnt doing it right then he wouldnt get a positive rating like he did on the video.
