The fight was for, at the time, Khans WBO-Intercontinential belt, although its not a big deal and the belt isnt really important, how come after Prescott won it, suddenly its ''vacant'' when Khan fights Barrera? :S I remember in Prescotts last fight in late february he had the belt around him after winning, with all due respect to Khan, he aint the one who makes these things happen, but its wrong man, its a shame for guys like Ola Afolabi (meant to get a title shot after beating Enzo in 90 days) and Breidis Prescott (winning a title then suddenly having it took off him to be ''vacant'').
True about the title, but still, a boxer will feel as if he 'earned' that title etc, thats how i think its unfair to suddenly have the title vacated cause of powerful promoters and so on.
What annoys me is that it is khan that is getting a world title shot and not Prescott. Who is by far the better fighter.
Got to disagree there, after seeing a prescott before and after the khan fight I dont think he is the better fighter at all, he just caught khan cold
Prescott was set to fight Edwin Valero for the WBC lightweight title in July, negotiations have simply ended without any interviews or notices on whats going on though, Prescott WAS set for a title shot it simply has not gone through and been signed on yet.
So if that fight with Valero have went through, then he would have had a title shot, so its all fair but Valero said he wants bigger names.
Prescott is not the better boxer i agree.Amir did not half help him look good that night. The first jab hurt him so Amir decides to see what happen if he lets Presscot land a power shot. But i would expect Amir to win a rematch.I honestly think Amir has learned his lesson, his chin is not the best but nobody can question is fighting heart. He was all over the place but still tried to get up and carry on. I dont think he has earned the title shot.I will be cheering him on though.
Negotiations never got started, there were stories about the fight been made then a week or 2 later it came out they hadnt even started negotiations, it was just mentioned as a possibility
