    Hi all,

Long time lurker first time poster etc etc.

I don't have too much experience with gloves and just have a question on these new Ringside IMF Tech sparring gloves I received recently, I've attached a pic so you get an idea of what I'm harping on about, they fit nice and snug but my middle knuckles are right at the front and hit the bag/person first, essentially its impossible to use my top knuckles without trying to bend the wrist down putting it in a bad position, is this normal? maybe with sparring gloves this is normal? not sure if I should just get used to it or try a different pair.

    Any info appreciated!

  2. im new to boxing i have problems with this too... everytime i try to hook i end up connecting with my middle knuckles which hurts a bit and also dosent really hurt my opponent not sure if its my gloves or the way im using it...and like you said inorder to hit with my top knuckles i have to get close to do it and makes me vulnerable.....i will be buying reyes gloves to see if every glove is like this

I have these gloves too. First of all these gloves front padding is very thick because it's sparring glove so it won't really land correctly on the bags in the beginning.

Once you break them in and use them for a while then it starts to feel better and starts landing correctly.

Get a cheap pair of 12 oz gloves for the
bag. also the knuckle placement is a bit odd... see if u cant jam ur hands in there a bit more

Cheers for the replies guys, just had sparring in them about an hour ago, got a blood nose and bled all over them haha! anyway I didn't have problems with the hand placement during sparring and I used my old gloves for pad work so it's all good, my old gloves are getting pretty worn out so might look at some rivals for pad/bag work and use the ringsides for sparring only.

    Cheers all! :)
