Is it possible that a beltholder doesn´t advance to the semi finals? For example Kessler wins his first two fights but looses his third fight vs. a fighter who lost his first two fights.In that case Kessler would advance but the other fighter with the belt now would still be eliminated. Does the constellation of the first three fights for each fighter allow that possibility? On a sidenote what happens if two figters have the same amount of points after three fights?Which fighter gets the higher seed?
I think the belt is on the line in each fight so it's very possible. As for the points thing, i think Showtime has figured out some tiebreaker rules in case there are ties in total points. Don't know what they are though.
Thats a really good question, because isn't one of the reasons for the tournament to try and unify some of the belts.
I'd imagine they will be. The two that make it to the final will probably be ranked #1 & #2 by the time they get there, given they will have beaten some of the other top SMW's.
Good question...I read the tournament rules online somewhere and I think they explained this part too...
A side point to that is that a guy on a 2 fight losing streak gets a title shot. Don't see that every day. It'd be be rather funny to have a final and no ABC belt on the line, but seems it could happen.
