Correct weight mate....and the welterweight title changed hands 4 times. How about the previous question (the short Com title fight).
Who was the first opponent to knock down Hector Thompson? Probably easy for most but I just watched the fight and it was an awesome display by both fighters.
Mate... you really got me on this one... I have none of my books in my possession, being in storage... yet, I'll throw a few names at you... Herny Nissan, Bobby Dunne, Tony Mundine, Paul Ferreri, Jeff Malcolm, Guinnea Hillier???, Barry Michael, Charkey Ramon... all 70's Commonwealth champs from memory... A question mark with Hillier though... Of those names, I could only assume Nissan may have fluked a first round KO???? Tony Mundine would be next most likely. Ferreri definately not. Bobby Dunne may have caused a one round shock over Manny Santos??? I believe they boxed the full distance??
Not Leo Young, as I know he lost his Oz JnrL/W crown to him... Would have to be Duran at a guess??? Cervantes maybe??
Frankie Ropis??? Ive seen little other than highlights of Hector??? Will keep guessing anyway... Kiwi fighter???
Initial thought was Baby Cassius, who I reckon beat Hec twice. But that was after Duran, who certainly sat him down....I'd go for Duran.
CHB... made another response about the Comm champ question above.... does that help??? Scroll up the page mate...
