Mate, you are so close to the painting, at you're almost featured in it!!!! The son was Empire champ in the 50's onwards, the father was boxing 1920's.... The father KO'd the former w/w champ in an Oz M/W title bout.....
Well George Barnes was a WW empire champ in the late 50's but I can't remember much about his dad was.
Just tell me his dads name... and the question is answered. George Barnes is the son. His dad foaught numerous great fighters... including Ted 'kid 'Lewis.
