Our very own Aussie Joe Bugner also won one of those WBF 'Mickey Mouse' titles....think he's still really still a pom as well as a midget boxing referee...but who can be sure???
I will give you another hint . Fights took place in Paris USA and Australia. Yes he fought 3 times for world heavyweight title
....and Tommy Burns KOed him 3 times out of 3. Would have been a disappointed spectator if I'd paid my penny in California in 1907 to see 45 rounds of boxing only for Burns to KO Squires in the first round!!
Quick one. Who am I. I had a career that only spanned 14 months. I had 16 fights losing only one, which I avenged in a rematch. I retired with a title.
Another quick question while I drive home following an excellent Friday beer 'o' clock: QUESTION: Looking for the names of a couple more of Ambrose Palmer's boys. This time a pair of Indian born brothers. Both brothers fought most exclusively at Festival Hall. One brother clocked up a win over Daryl Carrick (who went on to win a state title), the other brother didn't win too many at all. Who were these brothers.
Rodin, will take a stab and say Henry Nissen, although he was to engage in 18 bouts with the one loss.....
Wee little Henry Nissan I don,t think I have ever run into a finer person in the fight game,he has done most of his work for charities for zilch. Setting up soccer, football and cricket clubs, boxing gyms, mobile kitchens and court support for the less fortunate. A true little selfless gentlemen. He lost two fights to the same fighter,Big Jim West. He was a hard little nut to crack. Rodin in relation to your question domestic or o/s?
