Just to keep the ball rolling.... Which 70's Australian champ was born in Germany??? Faught many well knowns... including Hec Thompson.
Just back from the soccer - Melbourne Victory 1 def. Adelaide United 0 - how sweet it is!! ...and sadly, only minutes ago asked to leave the pub...and with family too...what's the world coming too??
Time for a new one. But still keen to find out who the Iron Man was (9, 95) who must have suffered from a really bad dose of rust! QUESTION Still in the 60s & 70's....a great time for boxing. Middleweight who became number 1 contender, but fought out of the same gym as the reigning champ. Compiled an impressive win/loss record. Put a few strings of wins together, but never got to challenge for a significant title. Fought good quality opposition including 'Kid' Langford & Al Korovou.
CHB, Leo is the man... and Joe Grim is the man with the 95 losses... The steak knifes I won for the Joe Grim question, are now yours... They're made of the finest hardened plastic. Perfect for air travel.
Not Paul Lovi, who incidentally did win an Aussie title. Peculiarities become apparent when looking back...Lovi was unbeaten til he ran into former Englishman Choules (PTS loss). But dropped his next bout to Kiwi Joe Sorby (on cuts). It would be Sorbi's only win in his first 11 bouts!
CHB... would I be right to assume this man was No.1 contender whilst Mundine was M/W king???? Will lock in Eddie dawson, who achieved the No.1 ranking, listed in Jan '71.
