A brief chat with OLD MAN today.. He suggested the same name, being Jose Legra.

Have shelved Mr C and Marion for a later date. Will squeeze a bit more out of the old kanga for now.

Here's a rather odd one from Primo & Roo:

    QUESTION

'Enjoyed' a short career with a poor return. But fought:

1/ A Hall of Famer - on 3 occassions (the same one).
2/ The above Hall of Famer's brother.
    3/ A Commonwealth & World title winner.
4/ A fighter who won his Commonwealth title from a fairly recent Aussie legend.

That's 6 of his 8 fight career total, and perhaps not surprisingly, he didn't achieve a pro win. Hardly a padded career this one!

Who was this unfortunate fighter with the rather appropriate name?

No mate...only Aussie in the equation is the relatively recent legend whom one of this guy's opponents won a Com title off.

The actual answer, without being too unkind, is a 'no-name', but with a very rare record. Once you hit on his name you'll see the appropriateness of it.

Not a name likely to strike fear into Hall of Famers.

Sounds like a shooting location for 'Breakback Mountain' (the gay cowboy film with Heath Ledger).

This site's worth a visit (see shortcut below) - lots of freebie downloads - old boxing books etc - there's a book called 'Life & Battles of Jack Johnson' (that I've already downloaded free) and it's well worth a read.

    Who am I???

    Former Australian F/W camp...

A great fighter who endured to a very early death in my early 30's.

Fought, and beat many great names...

One of the best being a former World Champion.. whom I KO'd.
