Was about to have a crack at this one Leon but reckon you've already nailed it.

Hegarty KO'ed Torpedo Billy Murphy who won the world featherweight title.

Mate, you are on the ball for a start. Bob was a Gippsland boy, until his move to Melbourne.

He travelled quite a lot during his fighting years, and Gippsland still remained his home for 'solace'.

I've been a friend of Alan Greenshields, his Grandson, for close to 15 years now, he lives in Inverloch. Alan's in his early '70s.

Bob is actually buried in Springvale, at the Necropolis. This I was informed of this morning. Oddly enough, Alan though he was buried in Carlton, as he had a gym there.

    Great find Duke!

Funny where the article says 'Flash has been on Lake's tail for a shot at his title' and something like 'Lake has ruled the Islands 147 lbs throne'.

Gotta think Lake had a much more extensive record than BoxRec have him listed for (ie 0 wins, 8 losses). Hard to 'rule' without actually winning a match!

That's what I was thinking. Boxrec is an amazing website but obviously small pro cards have been held weekly all over the world for the past 100 years....

What got me thinking about Easy Boy Lake was the 13 years between first and last bout in boxrec and the fact that they were name fighters. I thought it may have been a pseudonym used by various fighters ala Hollywood director Alan Smithee.........

    Nader Hamdan.
    Sam Soliman.
    Anthony Mundine.

    Who is it??
