To Haye fans... What gives you the certainty that he'll end up annihilating klitschko ? ( his speed ? do you think he'll simply avoid wlad's jab & work on the body ? ) To Klitschko fans.... see above... Why will he finish Haye ? (Haye is undeniably faster...but wlad is a natural hw , + he's got the reach advantage , size advantage , he's got the technic , and he's pretty powerful..but is it enough ? )...
I'm a Haye fan, but I think Klitschko has to be the favorite going into this. He's the naturally bigger man, with some skills to go with his size. The reason I think Haye has a chance though is due to his speed, his power and his mobility. Most guys are slow plodders who stand right in front of Wlad and hope to keep blocking until they land something huge. That's not Haye's style. Haye will take the fight to Wlad... it's a gamble but its also his best shot to win.
From a Haye fans point of view, what I see in Haye is a style that Wlad isn't used to, and I'mn ot 100% convinced he can deal with. Haye is a fighter who knows how to slip a jab and fire back hard counter shots. He can also lead with his right-hand and be fast enough to get away with it. His overall handspeed and precision is going to put Wlad in a position he's not used to being in. For Wlad, he's been able to methodically grind out victories against a string of 2nd-tier, slow, aging Heavyweights by sticking them on the end of his jab and gradually breaking them down, taking no risks in the process. However, against a risk-taker like Haye, he'll have to have more to his game than size and a good jab because Haye cab skip and counter that jab, no doubt about it, and Wlad better have a plan B when that happens. Wlad has never had to deal with speed like Haye has got, and in the past he's not always looked good aginst the quicker opponents who've been able to get round his jab. For Haye the biggest question is he strong enough to get up close and unload against a 6ft7, 245lbs Heavyweight beast like Wlad? Haye may be quick enough to get round Wlad's jab, but is he going to outmuscled up close? Wlad's inside game is hardly James Toney, but he is strong and will wear down Haye in the later rounds. I think it's fair to say that if Wlad connects cleanly, and if Haye is too reckless when attacking, that Wlad can take Haye out, no problem. But I still have this feeling that Haye's aggressive style and fast hands will make Wlad uncomfortable, and I don't know if Wlad reacts well when under that kind of pressure. If Wlad gets hurt early and doesn't keep it together, Haye could pull off the upset. This is the most intriguing match-up at Heavyweight in a long time. I hope it's a success.
Basically, Haye is fast and has punching ability, but lacks a chin. The Klitschko brothers are bigger and stronger, and Vitali has a solid chin.
