Im asking this as someone who doesnt like khan very much. I never liked his arrogant attitude early on but the prescott beating seems to have slapped some sense into him. he's far more grounded now it seems. So it seems that was a blessing in disguise. I respect his skill level and speed but as everyone, im not convinced of his chin. Moreover i dont think his skills would be quite good enough to hold of a tough chin'd heavy handed brawler who could get on the inside.

But heres the Q. For those who dont like Khan and keep referring to him as glass jawed. Hes accepted to fight Maidana, a much bigger puncher than Prescott. But i have no doubt that if he beats Maidana, haters will say oh but he never got caught flush so we dont know if his chin has improved. And continue the hating.

I am reserving judgement on khan until after the Maidana fight as i still believe its a fight he could most definitely lose. Its 50/50 for me.

But what would it take for the haters to finally accept Khan as a good fighter? Is that even possible or is he taking the ''chin'' rep and hate to the grave with him? What would he need to do to get your respect? I mean a lot of floyd haters HATE floyd but respect his boxing skills.

p.s. ive always found it strange how boxers with weak chins get the most hate. Its basically the only aspect of boxing you cant really improve through training and hard work. So surely thats not the fighter themselves fault?

The problem when people talk about Khan's chin is...some say they won't rate him until he takes a clean shot from a KO artist (even though a KO artist can probably KO 99% of the boxers out there with a clean shot...which begs the question...why would they expect Khan to take it?).

It's clear he doesn't have the greatest chin in history, so why expect him to take a shot form a KO artist? What if he is too good for said boxer? They are going to say the same thing you pointed out, 'but he never got caught flush so we dont know if his chin has improved'.

Yea. either that or ''he cherry picked opponents who he knows he can outbox. he never fought someone he knows will catch him flush''......

Yep...including Maidana, his last two opponent choices have been great...two very different styles that will only help him improve (assuming he gets past Maidana). And assuming he gets past Maidana, Alexander or Bradley possibly afterwards...

The reason I dislike (not hate, he's not Haye) Khan is because his "I'm the man" attitude with off and on talking smack about other fighters in different divisions, while until recently he avoided boxers with anything what resembles a punch like the plague.

He's a young cocky unproven champ.

Of course we're going to **** on him. Boxing is a sport of proof, not of pomp.

    Produce or STFU.

All we need is a bunch of prima donna's with a sense of self entitlement because they have a name. Fight the best and win, don't just brag.

With each win he racks up over a respectable opponent, he gains some respect from me. For Every Dimitry Salita he faces, or time he gets put on his arse by someone several levels beneath him, he losses some.

Regarding the chin issue, I think almost everyone who follows boxing respects toughness, it's a masculine sport and to be a tough guy who can withstand a hundred flush punches will win you more respect than the ability to avoid those punches. Running, holding, and worst of all, having a bad chin are signs of being immasculine, and attracts more derision.

The object of the game is to hit and not be hit so if Maidana never gets a bomb in that is quite an accomplishment for Khan. That shot by Prescott would have ko'd a lot of people said to have good chins. I do think Khan is a little chinny but many fighters had shaky chins and went on to have good and at times stellar careers. Personally I think Khans biggest issue is his head and not his chin.

Kahn has gotten more love than any other fighter without a quality win other than perhaps Bute.

The only fighter "in different divisions" I've heard Khan talk smack about, was Carl Froch. And even then he was simply returning the jibes that Froch had initiated.

    So who are the others?

I can see how he's naive and can say dumb things. But that's simply because he's got an IQ of a peanut, and isn't that savvy and articulate when conducting interviews etc. From all this 'arrogant attitude' we hear about him on here, one would be mistakened into thinking he's another Mayweather.

he aint really that arragont because he knows one punch and hes sparked

    look at his performances
when he 1st won the world title, he threw likw 1000 punches but ran like a ***** and put nothing behind them and ran, and he been put down by some real real light punchers

now i gotta admit thanks to freddie and ariza he has become physically more intiidating with his power and speed,

but in terms of ring generalship, he aint proven yet

gets a world title, ofcouse people gunna be ripping him when all this hype leads to him fighting mallignagi, who mashed up khan's face

world champs should be fighting the best

but shows how ****ed up boxing is with the ibfjteba championships and all thats rubbish

he messing it up for himself anyway

under 25 and fighting like once a year, waste of experience to be gained

And worst of all he has the gall to try and act like he's humble classy guy, while trying to spout of like the next Mayweather on his twitter. I hope Maidana shatters that glass, and I rarely say that about fighters and fights.

he said himself he was acting like a superstar before he was even close to being one, believed in his own hype of being the next sweet-p at 17 same as a lot of his fans did.

had a biography out at age 18, that always deserves hate.

My problem is that he tries to act like he is in the same position as the Mayweather/Pacquaio's of the world before even accomplishing anything. He is very condescending towards other fighters - talking about money, purse splits, being the draw, etc and he hasn't done anything to this point to back it up.

Here's his chance to back it up though and props to him for taking the fight. If he wins, it will shut a lot of mouth (including mine).

Still hoping that Maidana shatters glass though.

Khan is a good fighter. But he also has a terrible chin. It just depends what you prize in a prizefighter. Do you like the hard-nosed fighter who muddles on in spite of his limited talent, like a Mickey Ward. Of an ultra talented fighter who succeeds because he learns to shield his weaknesses. They will always be there. Khan does have a lousy chin, and having a lousy chin as a lightweight is much different than having a bad one at heavyweight. Wlad can protethis chin because of his heigh and strength. All Khan has is his talent....That won't be enough. He'll get tagged, eventually, and he'll go down, again. It doesn't mean that he is unworthy of respect. But he's got an obvious weakness and he won't be able to hide it for long.
