He won't be remember for his WW reign, because it's WAAAY sub par. Did beating Baldomir really do anything for him aside from give him a belt he hasn't defended against a top WW? Nope. Mayweather will be remembered for his career @ 130 & his stint @ 135.

Mayweather's WW reign is a joke and the way he left it WILL be remembered.

   Dancing with the Stars performance on HBO. But I always liked PBF's personality cause he's funny, and he tells the truth. He talks crap only to sell fights, and it works and everyone knows it. And alot of ppl hate his flashy lifestyle, but he's only living the same lifestyle your favorite actor or artist is living. So you really cant hate him at all.

Mayweather would be remembered as a great fighter. but he woudn't make a dent at the history of the welterweight division. when people in the future would talk about the great welterweights, there would be hearns, srl, dela hoya, robinson, napoles, maybe even margarito or cotto or williams if they continue to sort out today's stock of welterweights. but mayweather would barely figure in those discussions. he hardly made a mark at welterweight.

Only brits and nuts must have thought hatton could beat mayweather. lol

yes he did got pounded by castillo using pressure. even dela hoya was arguably beating him on points using pressure until he got tired. don't think he'd just dance around margo like that. margo has a good chance of beating him.

Dude, lots of ppl thought Hatton would beat and KO PBF. Even when numerous fighters were asked before the fight happened, they were saying the same thing. Lots of ppl thought Hatton would make history and beat PBF. And not only Brits, many Americans also.

The only talk about Mayweather @ 147 would be on WHY he jumped ship when it got hot and he had legit opponents to test him.'

No one's gonna give a **** about how much money he made.

Most people on ESB said Hatton would win. Saying stuff like "Lots of people said...." is pretty ******ed.

He jumped ships for the undisputed crown which was held by Judah and a fight MANY wanted to see even far more than a fight with Cotto and Hatton(which he tried to get at 140 but couldn't). Judah lost to Baldomir so he grabbed it from him and got the #1 spot which he was looking for then defended it against Hatton in a fight that had a mixture of people saying it would be PBF all the way and others claiming Hatton has a great chance and would win.

As far as clearing out the division, no he never did that and for reasons he already mentioned. He had enough with boxing as he spent his life in it and can't find the motivation to carry on anymore. When you openly admit that you can't find the motivation in a serious dangerous sport like boxing then you're better off out. His resume is definitely not ATG worthy at Welterweight and no one rational would say it is but he still got the #1 position he jumped ships for.

That's typical in boxing, before fights you see people hiding only to appear and yell "I TOLD YOU SO" when the fight is over with. The funniest was RJJ/Ruiz with SO many people picking Ruiz then claiming it's a crap fight.

A hated fighter never gets any credit, a cheered for fighter could fight a scrub and still get credit for it. That's dumbass boxing fans for you.

Are you serious? Lots of ppl thought Hatton would KO him. Not many thought PBF would win by KO. And of course he would dance around Tony.

PBF's WHOLE career would be remembered and praised because he did so much....but i do believe they will always bring up the WW division as a black eye in his career.

yeah, just to be negative. but its cool, cause pbf was never really a ww. but for him to accopmlish what he did at 147 and 154 is damn great. probably wont see that ever happen again

this is why i give Floyd so much credit.....because there isn't a fighter out right now who can fight from 130 - 154 and be favored and even win......and even if u dip into the past...those that did do what he did are ATG's....so he's done something right...even if he aint fight who they wanted him to fight...everytime he did thee was always somw who seen a way for him to lose and outclasses all.

Even Oscar....im sorry that fight was not as close as the cards had it.

good post. hell o that fight wasnt even close enuff to be a decision.
and it doesnt matter who you put him in the ring with from 130-154, he is the favored fighter
