Do they watch the fight directly? or watch the fight on the monitors and see what we see?

and you know this how? i ask simply as from my logic, watching it directly, they cannot see every landed punch due to boxers being in opposite corner, backs turned etc....making it more difficult to score objectively. At least watching from the monitors, with different camera angles, there shouldn't be a punch missed etc??

I didn't find anything on the subject from web but I'm pretty sure of this.

They might miss some punches but they are at the ringside which gives them far better understanding what's happening. Camera lies more than own eyes (and ears).

Often here (on forums) we disagree with the scorecards but then someone who was there posts that they were spot on..

At club shows they certainly have judges on 3 sides, and the officials on the 4th. Commentators sometimes mention how they are watching from a different angle to the judges, and may see things that a couple of the judges miss. Look closely and you will see a guy sitting at the ring apron, centered on one side of the ring, often with photographers either side of him, thats a judge. Sometimes they put their pen and scorecard on the ring apron and lean forward to look up. I've seen fighters against the ropes slip on the scorecard.

There are pro and cons for both arguments but here's solution from Youtube's 'Brucebliz' that still makes me smile..
