After a decade, Floyd is clearly an All Time Great.

So far, Cotto is a solid champion with a lot of potential.

What does this thread have to do with anything? No, of course Cotto is not on Floyd's level of greatness, but whats the point in expanding on it, unless its a reason for Floyd not to fight him.

Cotto is the best fight for Floyd, and Floyd is the best fight for Cotto.

The two together are the best fight in boxing. :deal

How true, but that's only if Floyd sticks around. Now having said that if he doesn't what would make Cotto great. Certainly not fighting DLH. If he did and say he wins, he'd be beating two Floyd left overs a yr after he defeated them himself! Alot of ppl are saying he's on the verge of greatness but at the moment he's nowhere near that! He needs to go after the other guys in the division! Right now for him to be even considered great he needs Mayweather, if Mayweather stays retired he has a very long way to go. Mayweather's retirement takes some of the steam out of WW, and boxing itself!

Can you provide evidence of this?

Good post. I wont blame him for fighting DLH, everyone wants that check at least once.

But I think a duel between him and Paul Williams (provided they both go on to big wins against the top of their division) would get him there if he cant fight Floyd.

Welter is a deep division and a good one to become great in. Of course we wont know which fighters present this opportunity for a while, but we do know that in all likelihood it will present itself.

    Probably.

But I enjoy the long, awkward wait, more than anything.

He's been great all along . . . what took so long is for him to get the big money fights . . . only the haters refuse to admit that.
