Think about this.... he's not looking to fight mosley, cotto, margarito, clottey, williams etc... he will fight oscar II, hatton II and who knows maybe judah II if he beats hatton:patsch :-( :-( :-( I really these kind of fighters refusing to fight the very best and avoiding challenges, I'm very impressed by floyd talent, but lacks heart and balls.

I could hardly imagine a Mayweather Clottey fight selling particularly well!

If you were in his position, wouldn't you be looking for the big money bouts?

As much as I would like to see a Mayweather vs Cotto/Margarito (winner of) fight, I don't see it any time soon.

He might as well retire from the boxing if he is going to fight the boxers he had clearly beaten before.

He is one sickening piece of wasted talent.

What are you, his ****ing accountant?

No. He's already a multimillionaire and he makes money no matter what. He's just a greedy *****.

Talking about this **** over and over again is a waste of time.

. . . because he doesn't want it. Now put the issue to rest . . . there's nothing you people can do.

He is no longer a factor in real fights . . . after DLH he is retired and probably come out of retirement to fight Batista next. :yep

At this stage of his career and given his status of P4P (and mainstream culture celebrity), it's not so much a matter of heart and balls than one of business incentives and risk assessment. In other words, the return has to be worth the risk.

Both DLH and Hatton have bigger fan bases to piggy back on than any of the fighters you have listed. Though the perspective of DLH II and Hatton II annoys me as a boxing aficionado, it makes sense financially: people will buy it (people buy untalented and useless Paris Hilton BS so they'll buy anything)

I think he should be removed from the top 1 p4p list.

Seriously, he has not done any **** lately, and now, he will fight Dela Hoya FFS!

Unless he fights real, active competition, he is just a waste of space in the P4P list.

makes no difference how rich he already is, if the money is there he will still take the big money fights, anyone would, even though i would love to see him fight cotto etc

Yeah because beatting a former p4p king at the highest weight of his career, the reigning 140 champ and fellow p4p top 10 fighter, and the undisputed welterweight weight champ is nothing:good

    1. I'm not so sure, did dela Hoya become P4P king at any time? But regardless, that close split decision win over DLH counts for something

    2. Hatton struggled mightily against Collazo at 147... are we forgetting this?

    3. Undisputed or not, Baldomir is definitely less of a risk than either Cotto, Margarito and even Clottey.

The threadstarter has a very valid point.

Yeah seriously he's beaten 'nobody' except for about four future hall-of-famers including the top 140 pounder in the world.

Whats the problem with Floyd trying to better his life off by fighting only for the money? Think about it, he's already proven that he has the talent, he's going to be a hall of famer, why not? I would very much like to see him take on Cotto, Margarito, or williams, but I really don't blame him for fighting for the money. Why not? If you were in his shoe's wouldn't you be planning on your retirement and supporting your family? Anyway if he did fight cotto, margarito or williams, it would most likely come out as him out classing all of them, with Cotto having the best chances of beating him.

I can only see dela Hoya as the sure-fire first ballot hall of famer in his résumé. Castillo, Corrales and Hatton aren't first-ballot locks, I'm not even sure they'd get there at all. Your top 140-pounder already struggled against Collazo for your information so I don't see anything greaty with Floyd's win.

    Kartog,

Everybody has a bad night, and Hatton had his against Collazo, but still did enough against an opponent with totally the wrong style for him.

I thought Floyd's performance was excellent - as a Hatton fan, I grudgingly picked Mayweather to win, but certainly not in the manner he did - not the TKO especially, but the tactics were absolutely perfect. Many guys had tried that with Ricky before and been eaten up!

I think Hatton will probably do enough within the remainder of his career to ensure his entry into the Hall of Fame, but I would doubt that he would be a first ballot entry, as you say.
