We are talking about the best available competition for him for the past two years.

He is taking the easy way out here. It is as obvious as daylight.

Following the Hatton fight, I would agree.

But, if I am being cynical, many believe that Oscar won the first fight, so perhaps the rematch is to prove a point, I don't know. Had the first fight been an exciting affair, you would all want to see a rematch!

I don't think Floyd actually sees himself as a welterweight champion - the titles etc are merely incidental. More of an exhibitionist I would say!

Floyd is finally getting the big money matches that he craved for so many years. That was the main reason he moved up in weight in the first place to chase after Oscar, Shane, Kostya and other big names. Both Oscar and Hatton have massive following while the other top 10 don't. Cotto got decent following but he is no Hatton or Oscar. It is just smart money.

I don't get what you mean that Floyd didn't fight a top 10 Welter.... Judah was ranked number 1 before getting upset it and was still top 10. Baldomir became number 1 guy of the division and Floyd fought both of them. So that is two. Then Floyd fought the number 1 guy at 154 in Oscar. Then the number 1 Guy at 140... Did you just start following boxing? That is basically FOUR number 1's he went after.

The winner of the Cotto-Margarito clash will be the champ at 147lbs. It'd be nice to resolve the Q-Williams issue though. However I would favor the Cotto-Margarito winner in a matchup with the Q-Williams winner.

Mayweather is not a factor at the top when considering 147. He is moonlighting as a jr.middle and his real challenges ended fighting true 140lb fighters (Judah and Hatton).

The winner between Cotto vs Margarito have to beat Mayweather to be considered number 1 bc Floyd is the number 1 right now. Cotto beat Judah when Judah is no longer in the top 10 at 147 anymore. being laid off for 15 months. The cotto fight shane who just drop down to 147 and then Gomez for barly made it in top 10 (to my amazement). Margarito lost to Paul Williams which pushed him to top 5. So how could the number 2 guy (cotto) fighting the number 4-5 guy equals number 1? When floyd beat two top 3 guy at 147.

At 147 where hatton proved he was not good. Remember his first fight at 147 with Collazo? That should be a good indicator that he has difficult time at that weight.

It was obvious Floyd defeated Oscar the first time around, and now, he will fight him again?

There are more clear challenges for him than a retired businessman. You should know that as a fan.

Well, that was by DQ while Clottey was ahead on all three scorecards.

To me, there isn't a Quintana/Williams issue - Quintana won clearly on the judges card and on mine, the only person I can think of who scored it for Williams was Sky commentator Johnny Nelson, who is like the British version of Lederman.

Margarito would beat Williams nine times out of ten, obviously when they fought it was the single occasion!

The winner of Cotto-Margarito ought to be in line for a shot at Mayweather, who is probably treating DLH as a pay day and tune up fight. To criticise him for fighting Hatton (the first time) is very unfair, as that fight would have been on the cards the moment Kostya Tszyu quit on his stool - the hard part was making a name of Hatton in America, which was achieved by knocking out Castillo (regardless of whether JLC was prime or not - open to debate).

I think Floyd is in a different class to any of these guys, and though Cotto is the best of the bunch, I feel Margarito is the man with the best chance of pulling off a shock upset.

Clottey gets fustrated easily when the fight isn't going his way. He couldn't keep his composure and lost because of it.

So what? It wouldn't have have mattered if the fight was at 140 he still would have gotten destroyed. You can't blame PBF for that, hell he called out Hatton at 140 back in 2005 and was turned down.

I agree the Oscar rematch is a waste but you don't know what PBF's plans are after that fight.
