The whole problem with your analysis is your assumption that Floyd is so much better than the fab 4 that he wouldn't get hit by them, yet a past prime SSM rocked Floyd pretty good.

The bigger question about Floyd is what happens when he does get hit, and hit much more than he wants to be, And with power he's never felt before?

Does he fight back, does his brittle hands stop the aggression that is called Duran?

does he survive a clean punch from Hearns?

Does he trade punches with SRL and come out on top?

If you seriously think he can beat all these guys without getting hit you're delusional.

He says that Floyd would have toyed with them.

Would Floyd have fought ANY of them?

The guy's living in a fantasy World.

Never said he wouldent get hit! What i am saying is all four of these guys would have been in the ring with a talent non of them would have encountterd before. floyd would have been the best defensive fighter they would have faced in ther careers. Would he have survived a vicious right hand from Hearns? perhaps not. and yes he did take a MASSIVE right hand from SSM AND another latert on in the round than we kmow if Hearns took it he would have went to sleep. Floyd kept his wits about himself and when he got his legs back ( not by running i might add ) he totally destroyed SSM and he did it coming forward the whole fight. He would have seen Hearns right hand coming a mile away. All of the great four got Hit regularly.

Floyd is awesome, one of the best I've ever observed.

He does however have the most carefully crafted records of any ATG I've ever seen as well.

I think sometime his diehards buy a little too much into the hype.

A fight with Duran is the only one of those matches that makes sense.

Just realize that each of the Fab 4 would have brutalized Pac, but FMJ's health came 1st.

One point some of you have not thought through is the "would he have have taken the fights against the fab 4?".
History shows that he would have. Until he became the p4p #1 he took on all comers, and called out everyone ahead of him on the ranking chart.
Called out Prince Nazeem, Mosley -in his prime, Tzyu, and DLH. None of them were willing. As a climber on the boxing rankings he would have fought everyone. As the nr #1 he protects himself from fighting unqualified challengers. When was the last time he fought a fighter coming off a loss? Judah.. Who lost against Baldomir, who he beat next. He fought Hatton while he was undefeated and had the confidence of that and of being a champion, beat Mosley after a devastating victory against Margarito. Compare that to Paq.
As a up and comer through the divisions he fought everyone. Took on, as an example, p4p standout Corrales while he was still undefeated, and gave Castillo a rematch right away after his disputed win in 2002.
He would have fought the fab four. No question about it.

The only real comparison between the 3 and Floyd would be Duran. They started around the same weight.

The other 2 are not really comparable. Just IMO. You're matching a guy who started 4 weight classes below them, and asking Floyd to fight the guys 4 divisions higher at what many consider their prime weight.

Again, just my opinion. But when you compare a guy to guys 4 divisions higher than him, that says a lot.

Could SRL beat Roy Jones Jr. at Super-Middleweight? No. It is similarly a ridiculous comparison in my view and says nothing about who is "greater or better." Again, just my humble opinion.

I agree and said so previously. the only one to compare Mayweather against is Duran.

That said, it's my personal opinion that he doesn't win a contest between himself and Duran either at 135 or at 147.

It would be an interesting fight, that is for sure. I don't think anybody gets blown out regardless of the winner, it would be a close fight. And both fighters can go 15 which is what would make it intriguing to me. A lot of modern guys couldn't make it to 15 in my opinion, which makes new vs old fighter comparisons more difficult.

Neither did Duran. Your equivalent would be Mayweather losing a close fight to Martinez. (Not saying Martinez is as great as Hagler, just in regard to relevance.)

I really don't see how that is much of an additional accomplishment to his resume considering his defense. It would be expected that if Floyd lost, it would be a decision loss and probably close. He isn't getting KO'd.

How would a decision loss at Middleweight make Mayweather "greater?" It wouldn't. Just my opinion.
