why did walcott get the shot against charles for the title after losing to rex layne in the bout before (joe louis decision??) why did walcott get a rematch with charles (the 2nd 1951 title fight) when he was beaten on points so widely in the previous fight ?

when he hooked up with Felix B he started to get good fights but he dropped a few that he should have won, something like Jake L and Billy Fox, I have no real proof but you had to take one for the team to advance back then
it was probably and accumulated thing too, in that one loss, or even two over a good few months where he/they might have had 5 fight or so, didn't matter like a loss is crippling today. plus it was a corrupt busness resembling a sport.
