What about promising to knock Hatton out?

Not everyone can do it every time.

I haven't seen a topic or post about you saying Mayweather promised to KO him and did!

    1) I don't dislike him. I am glad he is back. Boxing needs its big stars. But I do think he has purposefully avoided taking on the top fighters at 140 and 147 over the past few years, and thus I have lost a little bit of respect for him.

    2) I like his fighting style. Sometimes it can result in positively soporific contests (Baldomir, Oscar), but you can always appreciate the skill at work (Corrales, Hatton). I always enjoy fighters who are defensively adept.

    3) I don't know him personally, so I have no idea.

    1) NO! Floyd is great for boxing! He is entertaining!
    2) NO! Floyd is a master boxer. How could someone not like it?
    3) It would be boring if Floyd was not Floyd outside the ring!

    1. I'm not really bothered about his personality. Personalities don't worry me once a guy gets in the ring. It's just a circus act. As for his professional beheviour he annoys me because he likes to dicktease people with his stupid semi-retirements, and he never seems keen on fighting the best guys in his own weightclass. If he's going to retire fine by me, if he's going to stay fine by me, just stop clowning around. I'm glad there seems to be some sort of plan now.

    2. I liked watching him a lot more at 130-135. I've generally enjoyed him less at 147, but I don't dislike his style.

    3. His actions don't bother me.

Floyd mayweather's offence needs to be more destructive. He should be savage with his counters and not pot shot like that baldo fight. Emanuel steward said in the baldomir fight that great fighters like a SRR or SRL would not stand back and win a points decision against a non puncher who was getting hit with virtually every shot they threw. I just dont understand why he doesnt put punches together? He certainly has the speed to do such things.

His punch output is also very limited in comparison to other fighters in the weight division. Averaging 30-40 punches per round and landing more than half is no good for a supposedly best fighter of the decade. In many of floyds fights there is also the tendency for him to throw arm punches and not load up with shots.

he can beat your ass with pot shots..its not in him stylistically to do all this roy jones combination **** a lot of people expect from him...that would be like wanting ricky hatton to be a counter puncher.. somethings just dont favor certain fighters

he hurt his hand in that fight also.... not sure which round but he hurt his hand....asking floyd to dumb down his game and just be an aggressive finished would be like telling tim duncan to start doing cross overs on the wing trying to break his defenders ankles or payton manning to try to score a 40 yard touch down out of teh pocket a la mike vick.... somethings just arent in guys and you should just appreciate the greatness for what it is... im not talking about you in particular but im just saying

I have seen the whole fight..... that **** wasnt boring to me... it was a world class showing of sklls.. it was boring to the average person who needs to see a knock out to be satitsfied

Apparently Floyd Mayweather is the average person who needs to see a knock out to be satisfied.

It could just be that Floyd MIGHT have found it boring himself. Obviously he did what he had to do to win..but that doesn't mean it wasn't an absolute snoozer.

I'm not particular bothered by what he does outside the ring. I pay to watch the fights nothing more.
