    1) Same reason as everyone else, rated extremely high above his peers. It's not so much I hate Floyd, I just think his peers at welterweight deserve more props for being in the trenches and testing themselves.

2)He is very good defensively but if you look at what he's doing it is often illegal tactics. I am talking in particular about his free use of the elbow and forearm. The fact that he uses this cheat tactic constantly irritates me. Also bending below the waist. He hits and bends below the waist (illegal) which creates a break in action so opponent can't fire back unless they want to hit him on the back of the head and risk point loss. :fire

    3) I don't care what he does outside the ring. I just wish at a press conference he pulled that type of **** he does with someone with Barrera's temperament, or better yet, Vargas.

This is the pros not the amateurs, the aim is to put the hurt on the opponent not win a nice technical decision. The crowd at the fight certainly though it was boring, many left after the 10th round. Mayweather is a great fighter, he should show some balls once in a while and he should abandon his defensive strategy when the the opponent is overmatched. And start fighting some welterweights, pacquiao being the exception. Why cant floyd counter and rip hard shots at the same time? I see no reason why he cant he is a supremely gifted athlete afterall.

Also mayweather chose to enter the welterweight division, he should be dominating that division.

    1) I'm not a fan, because his actions lead me to believe that he thinks losing would be the worst thing in the world, even if he's taking a vicious challenge. For this reason he avoids these challenges and weighs up the chances of him beating someone too much before deciding whether or not to fight him. As a fighter I do respect him, but it's so very, very blatant that he doesn't have the same confidence in his abilities as other people do. Which is a shame....

    2) No, I'm totally fine with his fighting style. He uses his advantages over the fighters he fights, and that's good. Why should he feel compelled to get into a brawl with Baldomir when it's not in his best interests, for example?

    3) His out the ring demeanor doesn't bother me as much as others, I guess I'm fine with him in that aspect.

Real great champions should always be trying to set an opponent up and at the same time winning rounds. Part of the reason i think mayweather fights the way he does at these higher weights is that i dont think he is a natural WW. More of a JW. Its just frustrating seeing in mayweather such a large amount of talent which he doesnt use. It always seems like to me that he uses the least amount of his vast talent to win fights.

The thing i dont like about Floyd is that he has the skills to become possibly the best ever, but for some reason he doesn't do it, he can possibly beat every top fighter from 140 - 154 but he doesn't do it, he can become a top 10 atg by beating mosley, cotto, pac, jmm, he can become top 5 by adding Paul Williams, a top 154lb'er and an up and comer (vic ortiz or tim bradley or even berto.)

    1) I dislike his attitude. The whole 'if it makes money, it makes sense' philosophy is so superficial that it goes beyond the point of laughable and just becomes honestly tragic. The gangster façade is also irritating, as I feel that he puts it on a lot of the time -- deep down, he seems actually very insecure, as shown in the way Merchant's comments and the crowd reaction in the Baldomir match caused him to cry at the press conference after the fight. His Doctor also noted that there was a big difference between the face that Mayweather presents to the public and his real self, seen in one of the 24/7 episodes. This aura of falseness has never endeared him to me. If you're going to swagger around like a don, it should be entirely natural, such as in the case of Prince Naseem. I also find it frankly ridiculous that Mayweather declares himself to be the best of all time.

    2) I like his fighting style, most of the time. Lovely right-straight and left-hook, with silky movement, ace speed and top level defence. He's an impressive fighter. Even in the Baldo fight there was a certain round that was great to watch, as he just hit him again and again with the right hand without getting hit in return. I'm less of a fan when he fights extremely passively, though, such as in the Hoya fight.

    3) I'd probably like him more.

    oh really?

so why is floyd still undefeated if he's "wasting" his talent?

That's not always an indicator of wasted talent. For instance Joe Calzaghe retired undefeated yet I'd venture to say he wasted his talent.

I think the argument here is on him carrying his opponents, something he developed a habit of after going up above 135.

lmao @ Erdei...I think floyd had a particular goal of getting odlh @ 154 and achieved that goal.... which might explain why he didnt take on cotto, margarito, shane or pw at the time when it was in such a high demand

It's take a certain type of person (basically above average intelligence) to properly appreciate Floyd's masterful boxing showcases!
