A pro boxer should easily be able to bang out a set of 100 in two minutes or less.

Many of the bums that are fed to up and comers at heavyweight can't even do 5. But at top class it should be 60+ definitely. A lot of amateurs at the higher levels train just as hard so it's not just pro's, an amateur at that weight should be able to do 60+ as well.

I think everyone should do many different types of push ups when training.... I can do over a hundred no problem, then do another few sets along with a few hundred squats and sit ups inbetween.... but I get bored of that so I've now starting doing alot of clapping push ups (good for explosive power) and tringular push ups too. When I master the clapping version I'll start with single arm push ups.... which is a type I have never really tried very much before.

I think mixing up your fitness training in general is what everyone should do.... as it's too easy to get locked in the same routine and you don't reap the rewards as much when you get too used to it.

what the hell is the point of doing a 100 push ups? Strength? Endurance? There are much better ways to do it.

I could do way more than a hundred if I wanted in a very short amount of time.... but if you just add an extra two press ups at the end of what you would normally be your limit 60 press ups can easily turn into 100. Plus I always get guys wanting a little challenge in the Gym and press ups are quite often on the agenda.:hey I don't like to lose.

I wonder how many press ups John McDermott can do?

How about Chris Arreola or James Toney even?
