He was a lightheavyweight who grew into a heavyweight as he got older. he fought well into his 40's!!!! He is 2nd on the all time knockout list in boxing history. Walcott called him the greatest fighter he ever fought. Some Reports had him challenging Louis, and Louis camp denying him a title shot. Tiger Jack would have been lightheavyweight champion but he got stabbed in the back less than a week before fighting mellio bettina for the belt, and yet tiger fought anyway with a 6 inch deep wound!!! Fox was a top 10 ranked heavyweight contender for a long time, and beat some oustanding competiton and some very big heavyweights. I will post you an article on his style

Tiger Jack does look unbelievable for that era

    1. Your favourite fighter in boxing history?
Erik Morales-Some fighters just embody what a fighter is. He's one of them. I owe him greatly for all of the great fights he's had in a short but sweet career.

    2. Who in your opinion was the greatest fighter of all-time?
Sugar Ray Robinson- I've seen enough to know he's the greatest fighter that ever lived and not enough of Grebb to say he's accurate competition.

    3. The greatest fight you ever seen in boxing history?
Izzy Vasquez-Rafael Marquez III- Just an absolutely amazing experience from start to finish.

    4. The most underrated fighter of all-time?
Bobby Chacon- I don't ever see anyone really talk about how good he was. I think he often flies under the radar due to his record...but his fights with Limon and his match with Arturo Frias were awesome.

    5. The most overrated fighter of all-time?
Arturo Gatti- It pains me to put him here. I love what he gave to the sport, love the fact that he killed himself more or less for my entertainment and thuroughly enjoyed every fight he was in...but I read HOF talk for him and it's just not right.

    6. The greatest defensive fighter of all-time?
Sweet Pea Whitaker- He made defense a treat to watch. Something noone else to this day has been able to do.

    7. The greatest offensive fighter of all-time?
Roy Jones Jr- Breathtaking speed, power, accuracy and combinations.

    8. The worst decision in boxing history?
Holyfield-Lewis I- I saw it live at the garden at 10 years old, even then I knew some phony sh*t was up. I've watched it time and time again and I can't see how it was a draw.

Please provide one awnser to each question.

    Thanks

Archie Moore's prime was 1947-1955 with his absolutle peak being 1952.

Well Ezzard Charles at # 1, who would you put over moore at # 2 or # 3? I cant see moore being any less than top 3 lightheavyweight of all time. Speaking of the charles-moore fights, moore was robbed in the 2nd charles fight and came near knocking charles out in the 3rd fight, so with a little luck on his side the moore-charles series could have been 2-1 moore!!

Moore beat oustanding lightheavyweight competition, had incredible longevity, reigned well into his 40s, h2h matches up very well vs the rest of the greats... he deserves top 3 ranking at 175

You havent really said much that actually counters my argument though here to be honest, i said he wasnt top-2, and his GREATNESS at the weight is overrated by some. H2h he has a chance against any.

You have more or less agreed with me to be honest.

    Imo

    1. Charles - lock
    2. Tunney - i know u dont agree, but i like him here
    3. Spinks
    4. Moore

Also, Moore lost a good few against lesser opponents, i know he was immensely great and im not knocking him, just when we are comparing i like others ahead of him. He has a better resume than Spinks at the wight, but i like Spinks as an absolute dominator of the division, and his h2h status edges it imo. My opinion

(I know I kind of cheated.)

    3. The greatest fight you ever seen in boxing history? Marvin Hagler tko 3 Thomas Hearns. Short but full of action.

    1. Gene Tunney

    2. Ray Robinson

    3. Tough. Perhaps Leonard-Duran I.

    4. There's plenty I'd like to name. I'm going to be controversial and say Mike Tyson. His notoriety and his fame have made it "uncool" for those "in-the-know" to give his accomplishments the respect they deserve - From 86-90 he cleaned out a competetive heavyweight division as comprehensively and emphatically as anyone before him.

    5. Roy Jones Jnr - He dominated the weakest era in lightheavyweight history and was beaten by the best lightheavy he fought. Opportunistic wins against a green Hopkins and a weightdrained Toney don't bolster his resume too much. Head to head he's a liabilty due to his shaky chin and textbook deficiencies.

    6. Although there isn't too much footage, from accounts I'd have to lean towards Maxie Rosenbloom or Jack Johnson. Purely from footage I'd go Floyd Mayweather.

    7. Joe Louis

    8. Most won't agree but considering the grandeur of the event, I'll go De La Hoya - Trinidad. That was a boxing clinic. 117-111 De La Hoya, 116-112 at best for Oscar.

    Thomas Hearns

    2. Who in your opinion was the greatest fighter of all-time?

    Sugar Ray Robinson

    3. The greatest fight you ever seen in boxing history?

Probably Benn v McClellan, although I cannot watch that fight now knowing what I know

    4. The most underrated fighter of all-time?

Khaosai Galaxy is a decent choice - although he fought almost exclusively in Thailand you can't argue with his record

    5. The most overrated fighter of all-time?

Plenty of condidates but I'll go with Joe Frazier

    6. The greatest defensive fighter of all-time?

    Wilfred Benetiz

    7. The greatest offensive fighter of all-time?

Thomas Hearns, the most dangerous long-range offensive fighter I ever saw

    8. The worst decision in boxing history?

Again plenty of choices but I'll say Lewis Holyfield I

I'd forgotten about that, a truly awful decision. So much so that Park lifted RJJ up after the decision was announced to acknowledge who was the real winner.

    1) greatest fighter is debatable. there is no clear winner. 2) Favorite boxer is Roy Jones who I consider a true sugar ray style fighter complete with all the flash, speed, and brashness. Roy proved to be a real blessing to the sport. 3)Greatest fight for me was the hagler-hearns fight which I should have seen in person but didn't.

    5) Most overrated of course is Ray Leonard and has been since he arrived on the boxing scene. Underrated-there is no clear choice. 6) greatest defensive-Willie Pep

    8) greatest offensive fighter I'd like to say Saad Muhammud and worse decision I seen was Ali-Jimmy Young.
