Chisora is the best top ten gatekeeper the heavyweight division has ever seen. The man is a warrior.

God I wish we could look into some alternate dimension in which Chisora co-existed with Bert Cooper and had a fight!

I don't think it takes anything from Zhang's win. Zhang beat a fit 256lbs Joyce at his best. Chisora faced a 281lbs Joyce who clearly isn't the same since his losses to Zhang, not shot but also doesn't seem to have that same drive as he's come in overweight since losing the first Zhang fight, like his heart isn't in it anymore, so he can't be bothered to get into shape.

Also Zhang's wins were far more impressive. Chisora couldn't hurt Joyce despite dropping him and he basically used his experience, guile and sheer force of will to beat Joyce.

I also think it's a style thing. Joyce relies heavily on his jab and Chisora is good at slipping a jab. If Joyce can't establish his jab he tends to struggle to land consistently, he was made to miss a lot against Chisora. Dubois couldn't slip a jab so he was controlled by Joyce's jab and Parker simply fought a dumb fight trying to out slug Joyce instead of boxing him.

    No
    I don't think so
I think many at the time picked Joyce

I think that is very possible. He beat Joyce who was in the Ring mag top 10.
That doesn't mean that there might not be 20 other HWs that may beat Chisora, but I always think ratings should be on results rather than just potential and Chisora did score a good win
    Fair play to him

    Styles make fights
Parker has come back with some good wins

I think I understand what you are saying here and I will try and answer with how I see it with limited knowledge...

I often feel that undefeated fighters carry a certain confidence that can be damaged after a loss often resulting in a comeback performance that doesn't look as impressive or another loss. That is not in every case of course but something I have noticed

I have felt many times that UK based HWs are often rushed and thrown in very deep which I think can often affect a career rather than let it develop

Also there is the British title which holds massive prestige and has fighters go into tougher bigger fights than they are ready for
I can't think of a title as prestigious in other countries

Just look at some of the British HW title fights over the last 30 years
Classic after classic but so extremely tough
In recent times some went on to become world champions like
    Lewis
    Fury
    Joshua
    Hide
    Dubois

But even outside of that, just look at the epic battles for this prestigious title. I could list so many of them at HW

And every single man he faces has said that Chisora " is a hard nights work"

Even Haye said all those years ago that Chisora is a very imposing fighter.

He's always been the fighter that more elite fighters are fairly confident of beating, but their works definitely cut out and it's like the 'job' you'd rather not do or out put off for another day..

The Joyce wins by Zhang are good wins but Joyce had a better career than Zhang up until this point
