Goddam you got a mad hate on for Ward. Don't be a player hater - be a player congratulator. I am a Ward fan but I was also a big fan of Calzaghe. It's too bad Joe retired when he did instead of facing the new crop of contenders that came up around him.

    1. Ward ran the gauntlet because he just won all of his fights in the Super Six. Seems self explanatory to the rest of the world.

    2. I think Ward should fight Bute. Ward's promoters are angling for leverage againnst Bute rather than running straight to him after the Super Six. Ward deserves a nice gimme fight in the meantime while Bute builds his credentials by fighting someone in the top five for a change.

    3. Bute and Ward need to fight.

    4. Yes.

    5. Not until he beat some other top opponents in the top five.

    6. Wherever it lands.

    7. Because Dirrell is angling for that fight with Bute and Andre wants to see his friend fight Bute.

Just a hypothesis and want to hear thoughts about it:
What if they dont want to go to Canada, but know in reality that they wont make good money if they dont go?

Maybe they are waiting to try to make the fight elsewhere and be sure to make good money for it and/or make Showtime pay very big bucks for it for the same reason.

    thoughts?

I'd call myself a big Ward fan and a minor Bute one.

1 Froch has earned the right to face anyone he wants. After being on the road so much against tough opponents it would probably be a nice idea for him to face a lesser guy at home before moving onto more big fights and possibly going on the road to do so.

2 Obviously Bute is worthy and is the number one fight at 168 for Ward but if they don't fight next there are still some nice fights for Ward such as Andre Dirrell.

3 I don't know if Bute has beaten more top10 guys than Ward or not but Ward has cleary beaten better competition. I also don't know too many people who honestly don't think Bute is a very worthy opponentfor Ward.

4 If Bute were to beat Froch that just further cements his status as the #2 guy in the division and the guy Ward needs to face.

5 Depends on who he lost to and the manner it happened, but if Ward is saying Bute needs to do more now than losing a fght isn't likely to help things.

6 I think the fight should be in NYC with Atlantic City coming in second. As a Ward fan I like the idea of him going to Canada to try to beat Bute way more than I want to see Bute go to Oakland.

7 If Bute were to beat Dirrell I'd imagine that would make a possible Ward-Bute fight that much bigger.

I don't know the specifics and I don't know what Ward really thinks but I suspect he knows Bute is one of the biggest challenges at 168. I get the feeling that Ward is trying to run out his Showtime contract(which I think gets his next fight) so he and Bute can have their big fight on HBO which would probably pay a lot more for the fight.

Ward's actually blowing his oppurtunity to have leverage in the negotiations with Bute. A year from now no one will care that Ward won the S6, it wasn't even the big of an event (Martinez-Barker had a bigger turn out at the same venue). Bute brings more action with his fights and will quickly become the much bigger attraction with a couple of high profile wins against very beatable guys like Andre Dirrell and Carl Froch or even Kelly Pavlik.

Meanwhile who's going to want to fight Ward unless there's big money involved, and he doesn't exactly bring in big money. Ward and Goosen need to pull there head's out of their rear and start making the biggest fights possible. If he tries to milk this S6 win, he'll drift into no-man's land. No big names will want to fight him because he doesn't bring big money to the table.

Anthony Dirrell? That fight does nothing for Ward. Dirrell's biggest win came off some guy throwing his shoulder out during their fight. Ward says he wants Kessler, but Kessler can make more money milking the WBO belt in europe and fighting guys like Froch and Degale and even Abraham. Ward needs to wake up and realize what's in front of him if he decides to stay at 168.

All I want is honest answers from both parties

    1. Why do Ward fans feel Ward has walked a gauntlet? If you look at the original S6 line up, Froch fought every single one of the original S6 line up one after the other, and out of those 6 fights fought 5 of them away.
Ward only fought 3 of the original line up and had 3 of S6 fights in his backyard and the 4th in his home country.
Before Froch had even fought Ward, Froch had agreed to meet Bute.
Now Ward fans seem to feel Bute hasnt done enough to warrant a fight with Ward, so would they feel the same about Froch fighting Bute had Froch beaten Ward?

    2. If Ward fans dont feel Bute is worthy, who do they think Ward should fight at SMW?

    3. Bute has been a world champion longer than Ward and had more wins over top 10 SMWs. Bute is undefeated and a winner of 10 world title fights, so why do Ward fans feel Bute is not worthy to contest?

    4. If Bute were to beat Froch, would he then qualify to fight Ward?

    5. If Bute were to lose, would Ward fans say there is no point in the fight happening then?

    6. Bute has said he is willing to fight in Oakland. Where do the Ward and Bute fans think the fight should take place?

    7. Why does Ward keep going on about Bute fighting Andre Dirrell. Dirrell lost to Froch (however you scored it) and his best win is arguably Oganov. Ward hasnt fought Dirrell, so why does Ward put Dirrells name into the equation?

Please try and answer the questions 1-7. Im expecting some pathetic abuse from the haters but please try and answer, rather than make excuses

A further question. If Ward fans dont feel Bute has done enough to get a shot at Ward. Do Ward fans feel Ward had done enough to earn his fight with Kessler?
