Quick Question For ESB Rankings Voters

    Should we move the rankings vote back one week?

    I ask because the board is (rightfully) dominated with Kessler/Calzaghe threads, and while that ensures everyone will be hanging here on Sunday, I think a lot of posters in Europe are there or are too consumed to put together rankings.

    If this suspicion of mind is wrong, just let me know. It just seems those threads have been slipping down the front page very quickly, as the euphoria for the bout intensifies.

    I'm fine with this weekend, too, but obviously we want as much participation as possible.

    What do you think?

    I don't think so. Next week will be just as crazy with Cotto/Mosley posts. Just bump the thread a lot.

    My question - should the October rankings incorporate fights that happen in November, to the extent fights occur before the voting?

    Truthfully, I wouldn't mind an extension, to be honest. But I will go with whatever the general feeling of the group is.

    One thing that would be helpful - near whenever the rankings are due - is to post a link to that thread that has all the fights this month that had ratings implications, or to "bump" it. That was a useful guide to revision.

    That's true about Cotto/Mosley. Hmmm. ....

    Unless there is a groundswell of opposition, let's just keep it this weekend, then. As a compromise, let's hold the voting open an extra day, so now people will have until 8:00am Thursday morning EST USA. That's a little compromise that should enable everyone to get their heads back on straight.

    The Contender ends on Tuesday night, but there's nothing major happening on Wednesday night.

    Sound OK? Pimp C, Zak, that sound OK with you guys?

    Thursday. Sounds fine to me. I can have mine done by Wednesday, no problem. If you would be so kind as to bump that thread I referred to on Tuesday night or Wednesday morning, that would be real helpful.

    Your rankings should incorporate everything that has happened to that point. so this weekend counts, and Tuesday night's fights count as well. I don't think there's anything worth considering for Wednesday, which should help.

    And once you submit, you can go back and edit as much as you like until the voting closes on Thursday morning.

    Yeah, the one that listed all the fights that had ratings implications and their results. It was a real useful tool, I thought. Don't rush on my account, though - doubt I'll be getting to this until the last minute, as usual! :lol:

    I definately think we should. All within the next week we have Kessler - Calzaghe and Cotto - Mosely, which will shake up the p4p rankings...as well as the weight classes within.

    It only makes sense to wait.

    Biased post coming. I think we should wait until the results are in for the Cotto/Mosley fight before voting is DUE. We can start the vote at the end of the week, but I say we give everyone until next Sunday night to get the votes in. Besides, we haven't even done the nomination post yet have we? For the new members that is?

    Either way, I am on a cruise ship at $1.50 a minute for this connection lol....so I won't be back until next Sunday morning. I will go with whatever everyone else says.

    I'm fine with waiting until after Cotto-Mosley, but it should either be right away or after then, but not in between....
