I just heard two of the craziest statements by a so-called boxingfan..

1.He said "Cotto has a better chin then Mayweather,so he won't be able totake Mosley's shots!"

2."Margarito is a better fighter then Marquez"

Does anyone agree with these statements?

To paraphrase Roger Mayweather, if anyone agrees with these statements "they dont know **** about boxing."

I think Cotto's chin is actually underrated...he took bombs from margarito and pacquiao and still lasted 23 rounds. It's hard to judge Mayweather's chin because he rarely gets hit flush.

Mayweather's taken big shots from Castillo, Corley, Judah, Hernandez, Chavez. I definitely see your point- his defense is so good that opponents cant follow up, but he's only been buzzed once against Corley, maybe against Judah but I think thats a stretch, and each time he came back in that round to impose his will on them.

Cotto's been hurt quite often in his career. He can recover pretty quickly however.

1.Cotto was able to take a lot of Mosley's Punch. If Floyd gets hit with same Rockets Shane Blasted In Marg's Face then Floyd is going down for sure.

    2. If Marquez was to fight Margarito he would lose in my opinion. Marg's size and strength and relentless pressure would stop him. Even with out the Bricks.

Cotto's problem is he really never understood how to clinch effectively. It's just instinct to him to keep swaying or to throw back. It's good for the fans but not for him, I don't think Mayweather was ever hurt against Judah. I think the punch your talking about is when Judah threw the quick right hook and it was in dispute if Floyd's glove touched the canvas right? If you look at the replay their feet actually got tangled up and that's why the punch looked more effective then it really was.

Are you basing that on assumption or what?

Well no **** but Marquez is by far a WAY WAY WAY better fighter.

Mosely has a pretty good chin, but Pac dropped him twice with single shots, Margarito beat him into submission, Judah had him in trouble, and Clottey had him hurt. To say, definitively, that it's better than a guy who has, in 40 fights, has never officially been down from a punch, is pretty ****ing dumb.

And people who say that Floyd has never been hit flush are giving him too much credit. He hasn't been hit flush often, but he has. Judah, Corley, Oscar, Hatton, Castillo, and others all managed to catch him at least a few times.

I wouldn't go that far and say Cotto had great defense against Mosley. He still ate a lot of straight rights he just handled them very well. His offense and boxing ability that night was his best defense. Mosley seemed cautious of getting countered.

    1. Mayweather has a better chin than Cotto.

    2. JMM is a better fighter than Margarito. I think, due to his size, Margo would win.

First off I think you should watch ALL of Mayweather's fights he's been rocked more than a few times. And I don't even understand why Marg is even being compared to JMM. JMM has some of the best boxing skills of our generation!!!!! Comparing his skill set to Margarito is simply a disgrace.

Mayweather's chin does not have the experience that Cotto's chin has. Cotto's chin is a veteran. Floyd does not rely on a sturdy chin, he moves his head away. Unlike margarito whose style is to take shots but give more.

There is no comparing JMM's skill with Margarito's, but Marg does what he does bec. he's got a granite chin, size and stamina. he doesn't need to be slick to beat most welterweights.
