I like both fighters but as many other people have already said Frampton is the more skilful of the two & I expect him to win by late ko.
AFAIK they have a morning-of the-fight weight check. This would be approx 10 hours before fight time. At this weigh-in both men cannot be more than 10 lbs above the division limit. Between this weigh in and first bell I think fighters can go ahead and put on more weight if they want. My point (for those saying Quigg is too big for Frampton) is that even IF it is physically possible for a man Quiggs size to gain more than a few pounds beyond the allowed 132 on fight morning, I doubt it would be healthy for him or benefit his performance - quite likely the opposite.
The winner has to face Rigo by July for the WBA belt and/or Wake for the IBF within 90 days. Which belt ultimately gets dropped?
with tyson furys recent scenario and now this...is it becoming near impossible to unify titles in the future ?...or will it push things to where belt holders will have to defend twice as much in a year in order to unify or keep belts they have unified?
No Quiggs lieing about his height even more than what Frampton is! I agree Frampton is about 5" 4 ish but Quigg is about 5" 6 and a half 5" 7 at the very most and that's being generous I feel! No way is that guy 5" 8! Even Wikipedia has Quigg as 5" 6. Check out the pics of him lined up with all the other boxers that train at that Khan gym in Bolton! He's like 2 inches shorter than Khan who's 5" 8ish, Quigg looks the same height as Stephen Smith who is listed 5" 6 and a half. 90% of celeb heights are bull**** anyway. And no way is Quigg too big, Framptons built like a tank for his size! I 'm thinking Frampton will win but not really confident.
If Framps turns up at least 85%+ fit and ready to go, he finds Quiggs chin and nose early. Too much natural skill and speed IMO. Can Scott do enough damage on the counter and prove Frampton is signigificantly shopworn? We'll see.... Definitely not a 50-50 fight.
Frampton beats Quigg technically. He is more athletically inclined and a better boxer. However both of their mindsets suggest this fight will be more than athleticism and technique. It will involve the stuff we can't see - the heart, the strategy, the durability, the stamina etc. When that happens in professional boxing no one knows what will happen.
i was thinking about this earlier. stood next to him too. but honestly cant remember how tall he was. shoes can make a surprising difference to height though with various heel / sole sizes.
We were both wearing running style trainers and I am around 5' 11'' and he wasn't more than an inch smaller than me.
