Frampton didn't really have to outbox anybody on the night. Quigg didn't initiate the exchanges, he didn't attempt to counter and he rarely even threw a jab through the first 7 rounds. Frampton just had to throw the jab out as a range finder and he was winning the rounds by default on account of Quigg doing literally nothing.

The prospect of sparring Kid Galahad rules out a move to the Ingles.:bolt

  3. Joe Gallagher is a fraud, this horse/human hybrid needs to do the decent thing and part ways with Quigg.

Go and train some domestic fodders that don't know any better. Where you can tell them the same thing over and over about conserving energy until your opponent tires.

That kind of **** doesn't belond at elite level boxing, and then to have his fighter carry that kind of amateur bs on live ppv, the man should have his licence revoked and thrown in the bin.

Gallagher had to rely on somebody from Sky Sports to tell him they had Frampton 6-1 before he told Quigg to go for it.

Really? You are closer to the action than most, you are not blind, Quigg barely threw a shot for 7 rounds and you need to be told your fighter is a mile behind?

    Awful in my opinion.

I don't think anyone but joe will know what on earth he was thinking last night. It was glaringly obvious to anyone watching that quigg had to step it up. I understand not risking anything early but he gave away 6/7 of the first rounds. Very puzzling to watch last night. If quigg showed the urgency he did in round 8 from round 4/5 really think he would of forced a late stoppage. Large part of blame has to lie with Joe Gallagher

Makes you wonder what he said in Paul Smith's ear when he fought Abraham first time around and even more so the second time.

If Gallagher thought it was close after 8 last night he either can't score a fight or he is so blinkered he can't stop his bias for his fighter and look at it objectively.

And Gallagher had the nerve to try and dig out the Shane McGuigan every time a camera was put in front of his face over the last few months.

That trainer of the year award has tipped him over the edge

To be fair to JG, I think he get's the absolute most out of fighters who would be deemed to have lesser talent then others.

I think he does a great job at exposing lesser fighters weaknesses for his fighters. Anthony Crolla springs to mind, on how well he has done under him.

However, I think at the top level when his fighters are in close matchups, if what they have worked on isn't working I just think they will struggle as they are so reliant on his advice. It's a bit of catch-22 situation really.

I think he wasn't great last night but he does get a lot of stick at times I think.

He does get the absolute most out of less naturally talented fighters imo though.

The thing with his 'scoring' was that at the absolute best case scenario those first 6 rounds were 5-1 Frampton, and it's not as if he had to work for them or they were even close ones, just totally idiotic

Always felt the buildup from him was bull**** bravado, going on about how it's going to be a KO when the other camp were pretty much either/or but we win. Winning that trainer of the year award has massively raised his levels of arrogance, he is basically a slightly better than domestic trainer who has had 3 world champions largely because of the number of belts and the utter garbage his guys have been matched against, if Callum gets badou jack no doubt he does **** all for the first 6 so he can bang him out at the end, from vague memory Liam smith did the same against John Thompson didn't he?

Yes Gallagher had a bad night but calling Quigg to dump him is way OTT.

Gallagher will admit he got it wrong. Let's see how he bounces back with quigg in the future.

Scott would be silly to end the relationship so sudden because of one bad night.

I have always defended Gallagher, and praised him highly. I think its fair to say he is better as a trainer in the gym than he is on fight night. His corner work in the fight was a disgrace if I was Quigg I would leave him, he badly let him down. Another thing he penny pinches by not having a proper second in his corner instead gets the free option, one of his fighters to stand there. Shane McGuigan had Jimmy Tibbs helping him, Joe had Anthony Crolla, enough said.

Gallagher made a smart Alec comment last week, quigg pays one person and Carl pays 5 so who's the smart one, that one has come to bite him on the backside big once again
