Galahad would beat Quigg. He is probably the most talent and skilled of the current Ingle crop, that includes Brook who just has better power.
I don't get this nonsense that Sky fans are lapping up. The promoter and TV company doesn't add extra achievements to the boxer or make them better. It's the fanbase, crowd pull and how many viewers the boxer brings in at the box office and on TV that determines the share and control of the event, not the achievements of the promoters. What so Quigg deserves more money than his resume determines because Hearn has to do the legwork? Sounds like Hearn is negotiating more for himself than for Quigg then. I don't think people here understand that Hearn is only playing hardball. I'm sure he will have to accept less than 50% but he's making it look to the Sky fans that Quigg is worth so much, by just repeating it on Sky without any economic logic. If Hughie Fury fights Wadi Camacho do you think that will be 50/50 because of Hearn too? There must be better examples, but if there is a better fighter (who's got a higher standing/won more), with a bigger fanbase who brings more money than it still always has to be at least 50/50 because of the Hearn factor, I don't think so?
Has this Agbeko fight been confirmed yet? If it hasn't, I'm starting to doubt whether it will at all.
It's not nonsense, it's business. Like I said, how much less would the fight make on Boxnation without an undercard? Significantly less than on Sky with Matchroom the main promoter is the answer. I'm not here arguing whether it's right or wrong, or who has more fans etc, I'm just explaining why it is the case. Quigg alone isn't worth more, the package Quigg and his management team bring's is. Quigg and Frampton aren't exactly in different stratospheres at the minute, the only thing separating them is Framptons fan base right now. Don't be so facetious and ridiculous. For a start is Hughie not signed with ******, so obviously he would be the one putting together the undercard for that one if it wasn't on Sky, and has Wadi moved to Heavyweight without me noticing? I'll gladly return to this point if you have a better example though, although Framptons promotional situation is pretty unique. Just for the record I think Frampton wins this, and I think he's different class, but he hasn't categorically proved it as of yet, and given his current promo situation 50/50 on Sky with the marketing and exposure that goes along with it is the best deal he can make at the minute, and the most money out there for him. By a mile.
Galahad would get stopped by Quigg. He was losing against Jazza Dickens until he pulled it out the bag late on.
Kg was losing but he wasn't "really losing" if you get my drift. Jazza, no disrespect to him at all, was generating more heat than light in there and the cool customer KG was biding his time craftily. To the experienced eye, it was pretty obvious what was happening, the stoppage came as no surprise to anyone who knows boxing IMO. But of course, Quigg is almost certainly a lot better and far more powerful than Jazza and would start as favourite to win against KG. Not a foregone conclusion though!
I'm just not impressed so far with what i've seen from Galahad. He really needs to step up his opponent a little to see how good he is. Granted the same could be said about Quigg.
What about Saunders v Ryder, if it wasn't purse bids? You think that should be 50/50 because Hearn is the main man? Quigg's title against Frampton's basically doesn't count. It's not about who's putting on the the undercard etc, its just the 2 fighters economic value. Under both promoters that doesn't change. And as the main champion the Frampton team should dictate terms as they can sell 10 to 20k with any opponent anyway.
Hardly matters now...he has pulled out too! Bloody hell...what is it with all these problems organising opponents for Quigg?
Wake very good. But I don't believe he was ever really considered for the fight. Hope you don't mind me share this: http://www.asianboxing.info/takas-t...e-and-hidenori-otakeit-just-doesnt-make-sense
ill do my Solaris impression. Carl Frampton is an Irish midget and is avoiding Quigg. That's pretty much how it goes with that idiot isnt it. Back on thread. Quigg is a disgrace of a "world champion". He hasn't fought one live opponent in his career to date yet spouts off, mainly through his trainer that he wants a Frampton or Santa Cruz.
