This is a worry. Much like Ingle, all his fighters tend to operate in the same way. Relentless pressure, hands held beneath your chin, little defence or head movement to speak of. Gallagher seems like a Billy Graham-lite kinda trainer to me.
Last night changes nothing. Scott turns red and goes all Bobby Bouche when he is asked about Frampton.
I reckon Frampton clowns Quigg. Quigg is a solid enough fighter, but I believe that he is getting towards his ceiling. I believe that Frampton on the other hand has a hell of a lot of potential, and we have only seen glimpses of what he is capable of as yet.
Still Frampton for me, although the Quigg performance showed me that he has the variety and skill to get to the highest level as well. Whenever it happens, I'm sure it will be a high quality affair but I just think, as I always have, that Frampton possesses that little bit more than Quigg which would be the difference.
Agree with this, Frampton edges it but people are getting carried away saying Quigg would have no chance. I thought frampton stuggled on the inside last night and was very lucky not to get points deducted for ducking down to the ground constantly. He showed quite a few defensive flaws too suggest quigg could cause him some real problems, but I think he has enough skill to edge it on points.
Frampton has good power and pure boxing skills but showed last night that he has a dodgy defence. He was taking the power punches to the body all night and there were clearly affecting him before he pulled out that KO. Quigg is a lot cleverer a fighter than Martinez. Although he doesn't bring the same intense pressure he instead picks his punches a lot better. He completely did a job on Munroe and killed him with the body shots. Scott's only apparent weakness is maybe a poor chin. Quigg would beat Frampton in my opinion. He'd stick to a game plan and grind Carl down, like he always does to his opponents. Frampton would have look for the one punch knockout. He could definitely land it and knock and Quigg out, but I wouldn't bet money on it.
Agreed I think Frampton looks like body shots could be his weakness and at times last night I felt he looked a little worried in there. Taking nothing away from him though it was his first descent opponent
Why do people go on about this fight as if its rivals Fury vs Price..? Its no where near as big. I am not even bothered me.
That was just eddie hyping it, I like him but he was talkin **** last night when he said tha and the comment about quigg needing frampton.
p4p both guys(quigg and frampton) are much better fighters, only because Fury and Price are heavyweights in a terrible, TERRIBLE heavyweight division is why that fight is hyped
