I agree too many fights are being made as PPV, some of the recent ones I haven't bothered. As a long time boxing fan that isn't good news for the sport - these fighters are missing much bigger audiences for a few quid. I do think Frampton v Quigg is worth it though. If I can't get to the fight I will happily part with 20 quid to watch it. The argument about being unification/title challenger/domestic bout doesn't matter. I want to see the fight. Lot of time and respect for both and interesting that opinions are split on likely winner
The only PPV I've refused to buy is Bellew Cleverly, other than that I've probably bought the lot. I can't think of one I haven't bought. That's assuming I didn't actually go to the event. I am fortunate enough to be able to afford to purchase PPV cards, that does not mean I see them as PPV worthy or value for money. Also what really bothers me is nobody thinks of the next generation of boxing fans, those young kids who's parents might not be able to do 15 quid a time on a boxing match. Those potential young fans will not get the buzz of watching a big fight live, the build up, the anticipation, instead they will get a grotty clip of the finish or highlights on YouTube and it's not the same. The next generation may well be priced out of watching boxing and in the long term that will hurt boxing in my opinion. It's just my opinion, you either think the event is worth it or you don't but when you are paying £15 on top of your subscription for a British title fights that's taking the p*ss and the way things are going it won't be long until that is standard.
Well ts over the last 2 yrs frampton started to put clear water between himself and quigg. Wouldn't you agree?
Framptons only win of any significance is Kiko. 21 rounds over two fights. Quigg blew Kiko away with one shot after 4 minutes. It must be your Irish logic, because you don't make any sense, and sound like you're contradicting yerself. I think Carls peaked, and Quigg is growing as a fighter. I've never picked a winner between the two, but i'll bet Wee Barry and Co end up with egg on their face's, and Frampton bins them after the fight.
You blame Barry for obstructing Carl from fighting quigg all along....so surely he will appreciate Barry's attempts to protect him from quigg if quigg does beat him? Why would he break up with Barry? And why are you so indecisive about picking a winner?
tbh id like to see Carl bin Barry too, He likes the spotlight more than Carl. Mayweather v Hatton Pacman v Hatton. you know the rest.
Carl lacks the personality to really push himself. You need that in today's world. He needs a manager who is a good talker...he needs Barry. If Carl had a manager with his own low key even dour personality he would be far less known...and far less paid too....
