I swear that 5 minutes ago I was about to make a thread about how Quillin can't ever put anything together and will get stopped as soon as he steps up to a solid, lower B level pressure fighter. But I didn't expect him to have so much trouble with a Colombian lower C level, maybe D level fighter.

No threads to discuss this interesting fight, so post away.

In the 7th, Quillin got rocked by a couple of consecutive Miranda punches (straight right, left hook basically), then he froze up and just stood in front of him, letting Miranda tee off with more power punches for about a minute. In the 8th, Quillin ran a bit and was in survival mode.. seemed to get his composure back but didn't look in control at all. It's the 9th right now and Miranda has the momentum but Quillin is keeping the fight at a slow pace.

Quillin looked like **** from round one. He looks slow and is jumping on the inside and when he gets there he isn't throwing punches. This isn't the Quillin that I've seen.

9th round: Miranda didn't throw much and let Quillin get control of the fight again. Quillin didn't throw a lot and isn't trying to put him out, but he connected all the meaningful punches in the round and is cruising to a UD win.

His last fight was against the shot Antwun Echols, where he didn't look impressive either, but didn't get hurt badly like he did here.

10th round: Same thing as the 9th. Miranda not punching much and Quillin fighting a safe fight, scoring consistently with the jab and some power punches. He even tried to do a Pernell Whitaker behind-the-back punch near the end.

I'm watching, but not particularly entertained. The only moment of real excitement was when Quillin nearly got KO'd.

Quillin wins a wide decision. No gift here, the scores were fair. That 7th round was disastrous for him though.

But that definitely made the entire fight worth watching. :D We almost got to see another undefeated prospect get knocked out during this year of upsets.

When have you been impressed by Quillin? He's always been the same fighter, who can't put anything together at all. He has little ability to finish an opponent after having him hurt, little ability to follow a gameplan, little ability to adjust to anything his opponents do.. his defense isn't good, his power is nothing worth noting, his workrate isn't good, he's sloppy, and now we found out he has a shaky chin. Basically, he's a motivated young fighter who relies on his athletic ability to win fights more than anything else and even that is nothing too impressive. I'll be surprised if he ever even becomes a B- level fighter.
