Its a rare occasion when a fighter ADMITS ducking. In some ways I respect him a tiny bit more just for being honest. He's still an utter disgrace obviously.

    Taken from esb:

"Quillin says that Golovkin is a high risk fight without much of a reward at this time. Quillin says if he were to fight him he’d be doing it for the fans, and he feels like it’s not worth it to fight him just so that he can tell the fans he beat him".

This was one of his worst ones. As unpopular as Quillin is among fans, with the exception of his ass kissing of Al Haymon, personally I find it hard to feel any hostility towards him for some strange reason. I think there must be some truth to the rumours regarding Golovkin bashing him up in sparring and he just doesn't want any thing to do with him.

The guy seems allright. He is kind of crazy, lol. Dropping the WBO belt I don't understand though.

Seems like he is saying there needs to be more money on the table from Golovkins fight and he definitely wants to fight him. I think he is sincere.

But what does he bring to the table? No belt, no known name (which he accuses other fighters of), and no big money as far as I know.

As far as that goes both him and Golovkin are in the same boat. But damn they got to do there time man it will come. For one at least by beating the best and unifying all the belts. Quillin is not on his way to do that right now.

This trend of choosing the long route to big fights is an ugly one. Even Carl Froch said something to the effect of having now earned the position to choose who he should fight next. It should never be the fighter's choice. Their reward comes in the form of mucho dinero.

If he's hoping to cash out in the future that could easily blow up in his face, or rather fizzle out if an underdog hustles him.

A fight against Korobov guaranteed him over a million. If he were to face Golovkin around next May, Quillin would have plenty to count while icing his head.

This stalling is indefensible and damages the sport.

Wow, why should we watch Quillin box? He does not want to do anything for fans. What a complete waste of space.

Low reward? The offer K2 sent back when he still held a belt was rumored to be 7 figure. The made after Schaeffer said " we are ready for that fight" then killed by saying it had to be on SHO.

I'm sure Golovkin's side said it had to be on HBO. No different.
