You take issue with something I am not comparing. That's y'all's fault, not mine. By "going on", you are talking about negotiations and weight class.

I am ONLY talking about the reason that Quillin and Golovkin provided for not fighting Golovkin and Ward, respectively. I didn't say the situations are the same. How is that so difficult to understand?

He actually did say he wants to fight Ward.

The thread you are supposedly referring to was some dude who took Golovkin's comment about Ward out of context, because he was preparing for a different fight.

Back in early 2013 K2 did try to pursue a Ward fight, Ward had other plans - a comeback fight from injury, then went straight into legal oblivion.

To properly understand the meaning conveyed in one liners and sound bites, you have to understand the larger situational context in which they are said. Otherwise you can twist anything to mean just about anything.

If you are not saying GGG and Quillin situations, or the context of their statement or intent is similar you cannot accuse K2 or fight fans of hypocrisy. Nor is there a valid reason for injecting GGG-Ward into a thread about Quillin.

Same excuse, different circumstances. Only thing I take back is accusing the fans or K2 of hypocrisy. That was wrong.

Exactly. The only thing stopping Quillin v Golovkin is Quillin. You can't say one side is responsible for Golovkin V Ward not happening.

Chavez is in the picture because he put himself forward as willing, the date was set, contracts written, then he backed out without signing on the dotted line.

Ward has done none of this.

Yeah this.. The "go go GGG fight Ward" talk is utterly pointless. Why do people think Ward doesn't have a fight lined up? Obviously because no promoter will touch him as long as the issues with his own promoter aren't solved legally.

Yeah let's make a fight with Ward, let's get dragged into the courtroom by Goosen Promotions to find out whether they get a piece of the pie or not.

Sometimes I have the feeling the board becomes more re****ed with every passing day.

Quillen apparently didn't think the risk/reward ratio was right when he was offered a career-high payday to fight Korobov. He could be offered as much as he'll make in his next 5 fights to face GGG and it won't happen.
