Does anyone here actually make thier living working in or making money from the fight game to actually be concerned about or have a dog in this success or failure of PPV count? Just curious

If TV numbers for boxing start flopping, do you think that's a good thing? As a boxing fan.

    Flopping in favor of what?

Boxing been around forever. Its gonna be around long after we turn to dust. If your a fan your a fan, nothing like it.

These guys weren't superstar names yet.

But it would interesting to know if anyone here works at one of the big promoter offices

    275k is abysmal.

Maybe it will but those kind of numbers don't inspire confidence, boxing already looks like in a pretty ****ty shape in comparison to eras of the past.

Never understood the hype with this guy. Was never impressed and the outcome of the fight did not surprise me other than how quickly it happened.

I almost missed it too since I slow getting my beer from the fridge.

I don't know why there is so much hate toward Haymon or kid chocolate from OP. And by the way, I am not black and not even murican. I just like boxing and want boxing to succeed being more popular which is what Hamon is trying to do, willing to loose some money in the process.

Real bad numbers. I figured 500k at least. What happened to all the black fans? Two US black fighters in a NYC match?

Wlad did a million last week during the day time so imagine that. Cotto Canelo 900k PPV.

It's not boxing. These guys have no name.

HBO also had competition for itself on HBO Latino that night, Wilfredo Vazquez jr. against some undefeated Mexican. PR vs Mexico, I'm sure many Hispanic's just left it on that channel waiting on that fight.

Had they watched Quillen Jacobs they would've realized it worked out perfect, KO 1, switch channels and WV2 and his opponent were just making ring entrances..who'd have thought it ended up like that though.

I'm sorry, but at free tv this can't be right.
I dislike Quillin like anyone else and it was for a "regular" belt, but the fight against Jacobs was highly enticipated and expected to be competitive.
Much lesser fights have had much higher ratings on PBC.
