Who do you guys think should of won that? I personally am okay with the draw and impressed with how Andy Lee came back from getting hurt/dropped twice and knocked Quillin down. I honestly thought Quillin was going to get the nod since it was in his backyard and he is a Haymon fighter.
I thought Quillin was well ahead but did miss parts of rounds, but I was shocked when I saw the unofficial having it a draw around 8 or 10 rounds in. When you do the math, Quillin only won 5 rounds (2 10-8s), lee won 7 rounds (1 10 - 8). And I just don't see how Quillin only won 5 rounds but again i wasn't paying hard attention or scoing the fight. OH YEA, the one judge only gave quillin a 10-9 round for the second KD. That is bull****, if Lee had hurt him and had him in trouble after then ok, but otherwise 10-8 with a KD is proper.
Poor fight though. While I wasn't expecting a classic....I know these guys better than that....I WAS expecting an exciting fight, a real tear-up. Good luck to Andy, he won every way last night from a "career" and "financial" standpoint. But all the same old flaws were once again evident. Cotto...a career light-welter, remember, beats Andy easily. Golovkin would murder him.
Good fight imo, real tense and a fight for purists imo as it was like a chess match imo, real boxing fans would appreciate a fight like this they dont all have to be slugfests anyway I think Lee deserved the win if you take the bull**** 2nd knockdown out of it although a draw was probably fair to be honest both lads agreed.
How would Cotto beat Lee easily ? And GGG would probably beat him but I could see And defo having a go in the first few rounds and testing his chin as Golovkin hasnt really been tested in the whiskers department yet even though he more than likely has a chin of granite !
I thought the judges were excellent to be fair. I could agree with any of their scorecards. I personally scored it a draw but I could have either guy winning a close decision.
