"...now that Schaefer is gone, there may be more of a possibility to make the fight."

If there is any logic to the WBA rules on belt holders, Jacobs as "Regular" champ can't unify and Golovkin as "Super" champ can. There probably isn't any logic in their rules but whatever.

Recently, Hopkins got out of his mando by signing to unify - so that's the IBF, not sure about WBO's rules. If Quillin doesn't want to fight his mando Korobov, could he sign to unify with Golovkin?

If I were Quillin, I'd rather get more money losing to Golovkin than little money in risking to lose to Korobov. :think

By the way for those who care, it says in there that Golovkin made over 1M in several of his fights, when international tv money revenues were factored on top of fight purses/fees (HBO / promoters).

Also, Abel thinks Golovkin easily beats Froch & Ward.

Didn't Quillin (or his handlers) also turn down a title shot against Golovkin sometime before he won his WBO strap against Hassan N'Dam N'Jikam?

That's when GGG fought Makoto Fuchigami.
Before GBP/HBO **** and before Quillin fought for the WBO belt.
He does not want any part of Golovkin.

Quillin is not, and will not, be ready for Golovkin. Ever.

Thanks. I remember seeing an interview with Quillin where he said something to this effect: ''Golovkin's dangerous. He's got 24 (or whatever it was at the time) KOs. The risk has got to match the reward.''

I also saw another where he said that he wanted $2 M for the fight and another where he used the ''Who is Golovkin?'' excuse. Quillin tried to make out that he was this big American star but he was still fighting on undercards. lol.

Quilin is a nice guy but I don't think he's ever been keen on the fight.

Is Kid Chocolate even allowed to fight on HBO? I mean, avoiding a lawsuit from CBS/Showtime is a pretty good reason to turn down a fight lol

good point, i think one of the biggest reasons why some fighters dont fight other fighters is because of their current contracts with their promoters/broadcasters. But in other words its a good way of hiding too

I think Golovkin is actually a bigger draw than Quillan.

Yeah, I remember Schaeffer saying before July 26 fight that they got an offer from GGG team but didn't agree to it because they wanted a purse bid. So my question is whether GGG's fight with Geale was the last one under his previous exclusive contract with HBO or the first under the existing one? Because if GGG was still under the contract then Schaeffer was simply ducking on behalf of Quillin.

I cant call it a duck yet because he knew he would get the Jacobs fight.
Then if Taylor beats Soliman he will get Taylor.
After that unless its Cotto it has to be Golovkin.

Is there a worse full belt holder out there than Quillin at the moment? Answers on a postcard please.
