Via Twitter. Quillin is rightfully being pilloried for his seemingly clueless statement. This guy has to go down as the least self aware man in sports. Reminds me when Latrell Sprewell talked about having to feed his family while in contract negotiations. I can't think of a current fighter outside of Mayweather, Pacquiao, Cotto, or Alvarez that would consider $1.4 million a small paycheck. Especially when Quillin never made more than 500k for a fight. I remember watching Quillin on ESPN2 and finding him to be an engaging guy. Now the more he speaks the less likable he becomes.
I forgot to mention Klitschko, JMM, Chavez Jr, maybe someday GGG. Still for a guy with few fans $1.4 mil is a lot
Al n jay are not friendly. Al put his little grudge in front of his client and is smart enough to convince his client that it all makes sense. What we are seeing is said client trying to make sense of it to himself and boxing fans.
hopefully nobody feels sorry for this clown when he ends up panhandling for crack like rocky lockridge
He's shown loyalty to Al Haymon. He will get paid big bucks now and even if he loses, he will be looked after.
That's right, lick them haymon balls. Maybe one day you'll get to do it in person. If your a good boy. Hope you are being sarcastic. If so...get better at sarcasm.
The Sprewell comment was humorously awful. $7-8 million per year can't feed his family? Maybe it makes sense if you are Evander Holyfield and have 37,212 baby mamas. He started saying his kids would be on Sally Struthers commercials lol. Last thing I read about him, he had money issues and had his yacht repossessed.
What happened to American fighters fighting other good fighters? *sigh* Credit to Chris Algieri and Timothy Bradley but a lot of the others...hmmm
