I don't think this fight is going to happen. Team Willimas offered Quintana the same amount of money he received in the first fight. Quintana rejected the lowball offer.

Exactly. And I hope he honestly totally rejects that offer. I think its a disgrace and total bull**** to offer someone who just wupped your ass the same amount of money. Its absurd!

:good Thats what registered in my head when I first read that horrendous offer. They don't wanna fight Quintana if they honestly are offering him chump change

Williams team is a huge joke.

They wont give Margarito a rematch saying "Been there, done that"

Now they demand a rematch with Quintana giving him the same amount of money when he was the challenger.

I would pick Williams in the rematch since he wont take him for granted this time, but right now i hope he doesnt get the fight.

He didn't take him for granted in the 1st fight. A fighter like Williams was a young fighter who still had a lot to prove in solidifying himself as a solid threat regardless of him beating Margarito it didn't matter. To say that Williams took Q for granted at that early stage is pretty unrealistic.

well you dont know for sure

Quintana was a huge undergdog, no one gave Quintana a shot except for his fans

Williams may have had the same mind set as well, if he knows he can never beat Quintana then why pursue a rematch.

He was overconfident and took his promoters words to heart way too much. He got a gift decision against Margarito, wouldn't give him a rematch and then got punked by Quintana.

That being said, he should win the rematch as Quintana fought the fight of his life against a seemingly under-prepared Williams. Wi

Quintana is the better Boxer, has decent size at 47, and was more determined coming off the Cotto loss. Williams couldnt hurt or couldnt out punch him effectively. I see a simliar thing the second time. I think both will come in good shape and expect this to be a good fight. Quintana UD!

Unless Williams rediscovers his previous workate from Margarito and earlier, he'll never again become a factor at 147. I think he needs to leave Welter behind and make a move to 154, where he could become a major player.

Showtime will present a world title doubleheader on Saturday, June 7 as Carlos Quintana squares off against Paul Williams in a rematch for the WBO welterweight crown and WBC super welterweight champion Vernon Forrest defends against Sergio Mora. The Mohegan Sun in Uncasville, Connecticut will host the event.

Quintana (25-1, 19 KOs) shook up the 147 lbs. division in February when he unanimously outpointed the previously undefeated Williams to lift the WBO belt in Temecula, CA. The 31-year-old Quintana comes from Moca, Puerto Rico. Williams (33-1, 24 KOs), a 26-year-old from Augusta, GA, lost to Quintana in his first defense of the title he won from Antonio Margarito last July.

The 37-year-old Forrest (40-2, 29 KOs) is back on top after riding a roller coaster of success and disappointment - with back-to-back wins over Shane Mosley, followed by back-to-back losses to Ricardo Mayorga - during 2002-03. In 2007, Forrest won the vacant WBC 154 lbs. title with a dominant points decision over former WBC welterweight champion Carlos Baldomir followed by a TKO 11 victory over former IBF welterweight titlist Michele Piccirillo.

"The Latin Snake" Sergio Mora (20-0-1, 5 KOs) from Los Angeles, is a former "Contender" reality series winnner. Since gaining TV fame, the 27-year-old Mora has posted solid wins over Peter Manfredo Jr., twice, and Archak Ter-Meliksetian.

The Showtime World Championship doubleheader from the Mohegan Sun Arena starts at 9 PM ET/PT.
