To be fair, Quintana faded in the middle of the fight, not so much from lack of stamina but because he seemed to lose focus. If Paul can take the weight off easier this time, who knows? On the Vbookie Quintana is the safe bet though.
You know I could actually see paul coming through with this one. One thing about the fight I noticed was that there was rounds where paul was getting to quintana. It should not be hard to go over those rounds on tape and learn for the next time. Lets see if paul can make some adjustements this time around I like him he is good.
Leaning towards Q to take this one, too. Williams will have to make some adjustments and I don't know if he's had the time to do that. Should be a good fight.
Quintana will more likely out point Williams again ... this is a tough fight for Williams and I think he running the risk of getting knocked out against Quintana. I don't think that Williams is going to knock Carlos out !! We shall see though because before - I thought that Quintana was in line for an ass whooping - but I don't know looking back at the fight again. If Williams wins good for him ... I would love to see a 3rd fight but if Quintana wins its time to move up or move on for Williams.
I'd pick Quintana by another UD, but I think a very determined, focused and very busy Williams can pull out a close, in fact, controversial win here convincing the judges with higher punch output... But the thing is: Williams doesn't deserve a rematch, he's got schooled and did nothing to earn the right to fight for the title, only a freaking line in the original contract forces Quintana to fight him again... which is a joke... same in the case of Malignaggi-Ndou...
I think Williams' develops some sort of body attack, he can beat Quintana with ease. The problem with Williams is he's not sharp enough to develop a severe substained body attack, giving Quintana the same 7-5/8-4 split decision win. The fight rests on Williams' body work.
If Paul doesn't know how to cut off the ring in 30+ professional fights, I highly doubt he's gonna learn how to in 4 months time. Quintana UD, possibly late stoppage.
Or that it's not in his best interest to constantly fight on the inside and negate your reach and height advantage.
Quintana again. It'd be very impressive if Williams won this won, especially convincingly. I only had him winning 4 rounds last time even though Quintana was tired. I suspect he'll improve his stamina and the same thing will happen again.
