By Ryan Burton "Puerto Rico is going through a bad moment right now but we have prospects like (Thomas) Dulorme and (Jonathan) 'La Bomba' Gonzalez coming up. I am also back as well and I think Cotto will be champion again," Quintana explained. Speaking of Cotto, Quintana said that he still wants to avenge his knockout loss to the 3 division champion which took place in December of 2006 when both fighters were welterweights. He feels a rematch would produce a different outcome now that both fighters campaign in the junior middleweight division. "Yes for sure I want a rematch with Cotto. I didn't feel as strong at 147 as I do now. If I can get a belt I would love to fight Cotto again." Full story on b-scene
you have to question a mans sanity and not question his fortitude when he challanges a man who did what cotto did to him in the first fight
Quintana didnt say "GET ME COTTO" They asked him if he would like to fight Cotto and he said "yeah" I mean I'd fight Cotto at 154, im 6'3 210 and I'd come in there lookin like a holocaust victim and get dropped by the first range finder jab for a million dollars. Quintana's not being a dick here.
Quintana looke good against Latimore. But would get destroyed by Cotto. Wouldnt mind seeing him against Lara.
Lara would eat quintana up, honestly dont see it going more than 3 rounds before Quintana is flat on his back
You know what? Based on their PPV showings, this would still be a viable rematch and Quintana may have a chance of avoiding a repeat of last time. Of course, the favored outcome would have to be Cotto by KO, but you never know. Quintana is a real "box of chocolates". On a given night he can either completely school someone or get KTFO in a single round by that same person. His form vs. Latimore against Cotto's form vs. Mayweather...yeah, I'd be somewhat interested in seeing that.
Well but someone has to fight Lara. And since the top guys arent willing. Quintana is the next best option. And maybe it wouldnt be as easy as it looks on paper.
I disagree, Cotto seems to have a liking for those bigger, Everlast gloves, thats going to change the effect of the shots that he took in their first fight. Quintana can box well he boxed the **** out of Williams gave Paul his first Loss, I think with the right game plan he can beat Cotto who has since taken alot of damage
