I agree that his lack of defenses hurt his status... but honestly... a successful "mandatory" defense? Of all of Wlad's Title defenses, his "mandatory" defense is the one who he gets the least amount of credit for winning. Since when was beating your "mandatory" the mark for establishing greatness? Hell, in the end, Lennox Lewis dropped every single title that he owned in order to escape fighting his #1 contender.
